Inheritance And Development Of Dragon Boat Racing In China From The Perspective Of Social Governance

Dragon Boat Race is also known as dragon boat sport and canoeing.It is a mass sport activity with regional cultural characteristics that integrates fitness and entertainment,cultural spirit,and competitive events in China.It is not only a mass entertainment with rich folk culture in the history of China,but also a game that is conducive to strengthening people’s health and fostering their perseverance.Although Dragon Boat Race has experienced thousands of years of ups and downs,its heritage and development have not weakened,and has basically realized the modernization transformation and has become a formal traditional sport event at home and abroad.However,in terms of inheritance and development,there are still bottlenecks in the Dragon Boat Race,and the series of social governance issues it brings are worth exploring.For this reason,combining the concept of social governance to explore the inheritance and development of Dragon Boat Racing is one of the most important tasks at present.This paper takes social governance as the main research perspective,and uses literature,interviews,comparative method,and case analysis to conduct two typical dragon boat races in Jiangxi(Shuixi in northern Jiangxi and Jiedu in southern Jiangxi).On the basis of digging and summarizing the origin,competition form and development status of Dragon Boat Race,the paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the inheritance and development of dragon boat racing in the two places,and expounds the bottlenecks of the development and the interactive ways of China’s dragon boat racing.Finally,combining with the concept of social governance,the paper explores the path of inheritance and development of Dragon Boat Race in China.The case study found that,with the assistance of the local people’s voluntary organizations and governments,the Dragon Boat Race has achieved unprecedented growth and has become a beautiful scenery in the southern Jiangxi.In addition,the dragon boat race platform provides a solid force for social governance in Shuixi village,such as mediation of social conflicts,financial support for poor households and the development of public welfare activities.However,due to the strong clan power,the deviation of the public’s orientation and the neutral attitude of the government,the Dragon Boat Race in Jiedu village has always kept on the edge of the forbidden zone,so the role of social governance is difficult to reflect.In order to better implement the inheritance and development of Dragon Boat Race,on the basis of implementing advanced concepts,takes retaining the original racing culture as the primary task,the government guidance as the basic guarantee,and the transformation of government concepts("management" to "governance")for the fundamental path.
