| The pursuit of happiness is the eternal theme of mankind.In our country,education is the foundation of nationhood and an important way for people to realize their own values and pursue happiness.However,the current urban and high-education population is not very happy,and there are still ideas of uselessness in rural areas.This brings some questions: With the improvement of rural residents’ education level,have rural residents become happier? If you become happy,then in what way? Has this mechanism of action changed during this decade? This article aims to make preliminary answers to these questions.Based on the data of CGSS2005 and CGSS2015,this paper takes the subjective well-being of rural residents as the research object,and theoretically analyzes that income,social network,and health are important channels through which education affects the subjective well-being of rural residents,and uses the Ordered probit model to observe various explanatory variables.For the effect of subjective well-being and changes in education coefficient,we also refer to Wen Zhonglin’s intermediary effect test method to test whether income,social network,and health play an intermediary role;finally,we draw conclusions based on empirical analysis.This article draws the following conclusions: First: education can significantly improve the subjective well-being of rural residents in China,and income,social networks,and health also contribute to the subjective well-being of rural residents in China.Second: income,social network and health are important channels through which education affects the subjective well-being of residents.Among them,income and health play an intermediary role in education affecting the subjective well-being of residents,and social networks play a concealing effect in it Education has a depressing effect on social networks.Third: From a comparative analysis between 2005 and 2015,it was found that the influence of education on the subjective well-being of Chinese residents has declined during this 10-year period,and the interpretation coefficient has dropped from 0.0386 to 0.0344.Fourth: The mechanism by which education affects residents ’subjective well-being has changed,specifically as follows: the intermediary effect of income has decreased from 22.88% to 7.32%;the size of healthy intermediary has increased slightly from 24.19 to 27.74%;The concealment effect of social networks has increased from 4.83% to 13.05%. |
