| Coping styles are the methods,means or strategies adopted by individuals in order to deal with internal and external environmental requirements and related emotional distress.Individuals who have been under stress and trouble for a long time will have depression,anxiety,suspiciousness,sensitivity and other psychological reactions if they adopt negative coping methods.In severe cases,they may even self-harm,commit suicide or attack others.Frequent college students ’malignant and suicide incidents are related to negative coping styles.How to guide college students to actively cope with various pressures and maintain physical and mental health is a matter of great concern to schools,families and society,and is also faced by psychology and education An important subject.Physical exercise can improve mood,prevent mental illness,and promote physical and mental health,but there is not much research on whether physical exercise can affect the individual’s coping style and its influence mechanism.Exploring the internal mechanism of physical exercise affecting coping style can provide psychological health for college students.Education provides some references,which have important theoretical and practical significance to guide college students to actively cope with various pressures,enhance social adaptability,and promote the comprehensive development of physical and mental health.Based on this,on the basis of previous studies,this article uses the Physical Activity Rating Scale-3(PARS-3),the Physical?Self-Perception?Profile(PSPP),and the Simple Coping Style Questionare(SCSQ)for Jilin University in Jilin Province.The 1,101 undergraduates of the university conducted psychological measurements to understand the current status and characteristics of physical exercise,physical self-esteem,and coping styles of contemporary college students;establish the relationship between physical exercise,physical self-esteem,and coping styles,and explore the relationship between the three in depth;Establish a structural equation model to verify the mediating role of physical self-esteem between college students’ physical exercise and coping styles.The main results of the study are as follows:(1)The total amount of college students participating in physical exercise is low,and the overall level of physical self-esteem is moderately high,and there are significant differences in gender and major;(2)Presenting negative coping tendency,active coping has significant differences in grades,and negative coping has significant differences in gender;(3)Physical exercise is significantly positively correlated with college students ’active coping,physical self-esteem,and physical self-esteem is significantly positive Related;(4)The amount of physical exercise significantly predicts the positive coping style and physical self-esteem of the college students,and the body self-esteem significantly predicts the positive coping style.The ratio was 41.8%.Through the analysis of the results,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)Long-term adherence to 2-3 times a week,each time lasting more than 30 minutes of moderate to high-intensity physical exercise has a positive effect on improving college students ’positive coping ability and reducing negative coping;(2)Physical exercise can greatly improve the scores of the sports skills dimension of college students’ self-esteem.Compared with increasing the exercise time and increasing the exercise frequency,increasing the exercise intensity has a more significant improvement on the overall level of physical self-esteem;(3)The positiveness of college students’ coping style may be related to the individual’s sense of ability.The higher the individual’s self-confidence in mastering motor skills,the more positive the coping style;(4)Physical exercise not only directly affects college students ’positive coping styles,but also indirectly influences college students’ coping styles by improving physical self-esteem. |
