The 21 st century is not only a century of scientific and technological development,but also an era of high-speed information.The application of multimedia technology has become an important symbol and way for education to move towards modernization.It is also the need for the reform and continuous development of modern and contemporary education.With the deepening development of teaching reform,examination oriented education is gradually transforming into quality-oriented education,and the traditional teaching methods have not kept up with the pace of education.Multimedia technology integrates text,graphics,image,animation,sound,video and other functions,which can transfer a large amount of information and is a modern teaching method.In the process of teaching,teachers use the characteristics of multi-media pictures,texts,sounds and images to train students in various abilities,and can fully mobilize students’ visual,auditory,tactile,olfactory and other senses to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning,so as to improve their interest in reading and learning Chinese poetry and prose.The combination of multimedia technology and Chinese reading teaching can make students grasp the teaching content firmly in a relaxed and pleasant classroom atmosphere.Based on the actual situation of Chinese Reading Teaching in junior middle school,this paper mainly uses the method of literature research to explore the principles and specific strategies of using multimedia in Chinese Reading Teaching in junior middle school,expounds the advantages and effectiveness of Multimedia Assisted Chinese poetry and prose reading teaching in junior middle school,and explains that modern multimedia teaching methods can help improve students’ Chinese reading ability.
