The teaching of prose reading is an important task of Chinese teaching in junior middle school.Compared with the scattered single text teaching in the past,multi-text reading opens a new door for prose reading teaching,and it better adapts to the individualization and quantification of current reading.However,because multi-text reading has just started,mind mapping,a tool strategy for multi-text reading,is seldom used in the Chinese subject.The application of mind mapping to multi-text teaching is also lack of mature teaching model for reference.How to use mind mapping more effectively to carry out multi-text reading has become an important problem for front-line teachers.Applying mind mapping in the classroom teaching of prose reading can help students understand prose knowledge and deepen their memory.Multi-text reading can also actively mobilize students' initiative,so as to promote the effective implementation of prose multi-text reading.The study takes H Middle School in Xicheng District of Beijing as the case study object,and makes a field investigation on the basic situation of prose multi-text reading teaching in the case school by using the methods of interview,observation,text analysis,questionnaire survey.The study finds that teachers in H middle school actively participate in various teaching experiments,including multi-text reading.The practice of multi-text reading,especially the drawing of mind mapping,greatly arouses students' interest,deepens students' understanding of the text,enhances students' memory of information,and promotes the development of students' high-level thinking.However,there are still some problems,such as lack of aesthetic teaching,missing map evaluation,low efficiency of collective construction,lack of student activities and low efficiency of drawing.According to this,the paper further discusses the factors affecting the effectiveness of implementation,and analyzes the influence of teaching design on the scientific nature of teaching,the impact of mind mapping on the motivation of teaching students,and students' cognitive styles on teaching effectiveness.It also puts forword suggestion to value prose aesthetic education,teach drawing methods,learn mind mapping software and improve evaluation methods.Certainly multi-text reading also has the use limitations,such as the drawing time,the evaluation system and the applicable genre.The advantages and disadvantages of mind mapping determine the necessity and limitations of its use.
