| Maria Montessori is a pioneer who has made important contributions to preschool education in the world.With the "Children’s Home" as a practical base for children’s education,she explored and created the Montessori teaching method,which still has its unique charm.She opposes traditional duck-filling teaching and advocates starting with providing a warm and orderly environment,under the educational philosophy of teachers who do not teach,and rely on abundant teaching aids to enable children to achieve the development purpose of self-construction in "self-work".Montessori teaching method has been introduced into China for more than a century,and it has exerted a profound influence on the theory and practice of early childhood education in China,which has a wide practice base in contemporary Chinese urban early childhood education.Based on a brief review of its historical evolution,this study takes Guiyang G kindergarten as the research object,collects relevant materials by comprehensive use of interview,observation and other research methods,and conducts a systematic study on the practice of Montessori teaching method in garden G,mainly discussing the localization practice of Montessori teaching method in China.Firstly,this study sorted out the influence of Montessori teaching method on the world and Chinese preschool education,and analyzed its core views: the educational view of "respect and care",the children view of "freedom and autonomy",the teaching view of "no teaching",the teacher view of "observation and guidance" and the teaching aids view.Secondly,from the three aspects of the environment creation,the innovative use of teaching aids and the development and implementation of the garden-based curriculum,the G garden in Guiyang city was taken as a case for three months ’observation and systematic analysis.The research found that G garden knew the theoretical essence of Montessori teaching method,but it did not fully practice the educational value of Montessori teaching method due to its functional value.The reasons lie in the cultural differences between China and the west,the utilitarian orientation of kindergartens and the low support rate of parents.Montessori teaching method is a worldwide theoretical heritage of early childhood education.So we should not one-sided take its techniques and discard its value connotation.Therefore,the essence of Montessori teaching needs to be truly utilized in the following four aspects: firstly,We should not only face up to the objective differences between cultures,but also follow the common goal of educating people;secondly,As the core of the kindergarten,the principal should understand Montessori teaching from the perspective of value and lead the teachers to practice Montessori teaching creatively from the perspective of technology;thrid,As direct practitioners,the creativity of teachers is the driving force of theindigenous practice of Montessori teaching method.In terms of value,teachers agree with Montessori teaching and behavior to faithfully meet children’s development needs in combination with local reality;fourth,parents should participate in activities,trust and support the kindergarten. |
