Research On The Influence Of Shanxi’s Population Quality On Economic Development

In the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of my country,it was pointed out that our country must continue to strengthen its population development strategy,especially in addition to the number of populations,in-depth comprehensive research on population quality.In 2035,if my country is to realize socialist modernization,it must comprehensively improve the quality of its population;if it is to become a modern and powerful country,it is even more necessary for my country to achieve a qualitative leap in the quality of its population.The 14 th Five-Year Plan also emphasized that the state should attach importance to the health of the population,implement in-depth strategies for talents,etc.,to achieve a significant improvement in the physical,cultural,and moral qualities of the population,so that the quality of the people and the level of social civilization will rise to a new level.Of course,increasing knowledge and rapid changes in technology have made enterprises realize that having high-quality manpower will become an indispensable factor for enterprise profit,and at the same time,higher population quality has gradually become the competitive advantage of enterprise.When the state and enterprises are attaching importance to the quality of the population,Shanxi,which relies on high energy resources,is gradually clearly aware of the importance of talents.In 2010,Shanxi was regarded as a pilot area for economic transformation,and the economic transformation is imminent.However,to succeed in the economic transformation,the population is an indispensable resource,among which the higher population quality plays an irreplaceable role.Based on this background,this paper develops the research on the influence of Shanxi population quality on economic development.This paper is mainly written in three parts: the first part mainly introduces the writing foundation.By reading a lot of the literature,this paper summarizes the definition of population quality,index selection,evaluation method and its relationship with economic development by reading a large number of documents.Then,qualitative and quantitative methods are used to analyze the present situation,and then reasonable evaluation indexes of population quality and economic development are constructed.This paper analyzes the population quality and economic development ranking of prefectural cities in the province by analytic hierarchy process,analyzes the relationship between the overall population quality and economic development of Shanxi Province from 2000 to 2019 by principal components,and finally puts forward reasonable advice for the current population quality situation in Shanxi Province.The main conclusions of this article have the following three points: First,both the quality of population and economic development show the far leading characteristics of Taiyuan,and other regions are lower than those in Taiyuan in all aspects,especially the gap in science and culture and labor skills is very obvious.Second,the overall labor skill quality of Shanxi Province is relatively low,but it plays a vital role in Shanxi’s economic development.Third,there is a short-term coordination relationship between the population quality and economic development in Shanxi Province,but the relationship between the two before the economic transformation is not stable.First,both the quality of the population and the economic development of Taiyuan show the characteristics of Taiyuan far ahead,other areas are lower than Taiyuan,especially in science,culture and labor skills gap is very obvious.Second,the overall quality of labor skills in Shanxi Province is relatively low,but the quality of labor skills plays a vital role in Shanxi’s economic development;third,there is no long-term and stable relationship between Shanxi’s economic development and population quality.The innovation of the thesis is to enrich the indicators of population quality,making it not only include scientific and cultural quality,but also physical fitness,labor skills and population structure.At the same time,when studying Shanxi’s economy,it not only considers changes in economic increments,but also involves Indicators such as the proportion of tertiary industry output value and per capita GDP.In addition,the research perspective of this article is also quite prominent.Through reading the literature,it is found that there are very few literatures on population quality and economic development in certain regions,and many articles focus on the situation in the region or the whole of China.Of course,there are also shortcomings:First,there is a large subjectivity in the selection of indicators,and some indicators that have an impact on the quality of the population may be ignored;secondly,due to the difficulty of obtaining or missing data,there are some defects in the empirical research.
