Cerebral palsy is a complex disease, the treatment effect is often unpredictable,if there is a child with cerebral palsy in a family,in the next life, the family will face many difficulties.Compared with children with cerebral palsy, parents of children with cerebral palsy have to bear more pressure, which puts forward higher requirements for parents of children with cerebral palsy to cope with adversity and frustration. The author observed in the practical investigation that the level of resilience of parents of children with cerebral palsy is directly related to the quality of life of the family, but in fact, the level of resilience of parents of children with cerebral palsy is generally low,so it needs the intervention of social workers to use social work methods and skills to help parents of children with cerebral palsy improve the level of resilience.Based on the advantage perspective and the theory of resilience, this paper chooses the method of group work to intervene in the problem of insufficient resilience of parents of children with cerebral palsy.Through on-the-spot visits and analysis of the interview data,it is found that the adversity they are facing can be summarized into four aspects: economy, psychology, social relations and family belonging. Then it analyzes and summarizes their coping styles in the face of adversity, and finds that most parents of children with cerebral palsy adopt negative coping styles in the face of adversity, such as deviant behavior, self denial, ignoring adversity and so on.Then group activities were designed according to the problems and needs of parents of children with cerebral palsy.Through the group evaluation,we can find that the team members have made positive changes, changed their unreasonable cognition of cerebral palsy, and regained their confidence in life. Finally, the author reflects on the whole practice process from three perspectives:the application of professional theory, service effectiveness and social work role, and puts forward some suggestions: social work should integrate professional methods, combine other resources, and improve service quality;Family members accept children with cerebral palsy, ease the relationship between them, support each other and tide over the difficulties together; The community provides family support for children with cerebral palsy and provides more activity opportunities for parents of children with cerebral palsy. The author hopes that this paper can let more people know about the parents of children with cerebral palsy, and can also provide social workers with group intervention services for parents of children with cerebral palsy.
