| Education plays a vital role in the development of a country.Primary and secondary education is the foundation and cradle of training national talents.Primary and secondary school teachers are the essential part,and the society has put forward higher and higher requirements for teachers,and the working pressure of junior middle school and primary school teachers is increasing day by day.Work stress refers to the adaptive reaction phenomenon of individuals in psychological and physiological related behaviors caused by the gap between professional requirements and expectations.Studies have shown that many primary and secondary school teachers are suffering from work-family conflicts and work pressure,which will affect teachers’ physical and mental health,easily lead to teachers’ job burnout and other problems,affect their professional well-being,then may affect teachers’ physical health.Research related to teachers’ work-family conflict and work stress should receive much attention.At the same time,psychological empowerment can enhance individual’s self-efficacy,make individuals have confidence in their own work,and tend to finish related work seriously.Psychological empowerment is closely related to work-family conflict and work pressure.Therefore,this paper focuses on the mediating role of psychological empowerment in discussing the work-family conflict and work pressure of primary and secondary school teachers,which has an important impact on the physical and mental health of primary and secondary school teachers and the educational quality of each school.In this study,teachers of primary and secondary schools at all levels in Yanbian Prefecture of Jilin Province were taken as subjects,430 questionnaires were distributed,and389 valid questionnaires were collected.By using Psychological Authorization Questionnaire,Work-Family Conflict Scale and Teachers’ Work Stress Scale,SPSS was used to analyze and test the data,and the relationship between work-family conflict and work stress among teachers in primary and secondary schools was studied.The research results are as follows:(1)The overall level of work-family conflict of primary and secondary school teachers is on the upper-middle level,and there are differences in job positions,but there are no significant differences in demographic variables such as gender,marital status,children,teaching grade,age and teaching age.(2)The job stress level of primary and secondary school teachers is on the upper middle,and there is no significant difference in demographic variables such as gender,marital status,having children,teaching grade,position,age and teaching age.(3)The psychological empowerment of primary and secondary school teachers is at a high level,and there is no significant difference in demographic variables such as gender,marital status,having children,teaching grade,position,age and teaching age.(4)The two dimensions of stress source and stress response in work stress have a significant positive correlation with the total score of work stress,and the dimension of family’s influence on work and the total score of work-family conflict.The impact of primary and secondary school teachers’ work on their families is negatively correlated with their total scores of autonomy and psychological empowerment,while the total scores of work-family conflicts are negatively correlated with their total scores of work significance,autonomy and psychological empowerment.(5)Primary and secondary school teachers’ stressors are negatively correlated with the total scores of job meaning,autonomy and psychological empowerment,while their stress responses are negatively correlated with the three dimensions of psychological empowerment,namely,job meaning,autonomy and self-efficacy and its total scores.Work-family conflict,work stress and psychological empowerment of primary and secondary school teachers are positively correlated,and the relationship is significant.(6)According to the analysis of mediating effect,psychological empowerment plays a partial mediating role between work-family conflict and work stress of primary and secondary school teachers.According to the above research,it can be concluded that the work-family conflict of primary and secondary school teachers will be affected by psychological empowerment,which will further affect the work pressure of primary and secondary school teachers.When the work-family conflicts suffered by primary and secondary school teachers are different from the family-work conflicts suffered by them,their stressors and stress responses to work will change,and the level of work stress of primary and secondary school teachers will also change.Therefore,we can help primary and secondary school teachers effectively reduce work-family conflicts,increase their psychological empowerment,and finally achieve the goal of reducing the work pressure of primary and secondary school teachers. |
