| The education problem of impoverished minority college students is related to the development of higher education in poverty-stricken areas inhabited by ethnic minorities,and the good development of higher education is helpful to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas,to promote economic and social development.That is,to realize the goal of poverty alleviation through education.The higher level of education is not only beneficial to the realization of the family intergenerational mobility,but also conducive to the economic and social development in the poverty-stricken areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.However,with the emergence of social and economic development,the division of social status,the widening gap between the rich and the impoverished,and other phenomena,family capital has an increasingly prominent impact on impoverished minority college students to receive higher levels of education.Therefore,from the perspective of family capital,it is of certain theoretical and practical significance to study the educational willingness of impoverished minority college students.Based on family capital theory and human capital theory,this paper studies the educational willingness of the impoverished minority college students from three different kinds of aspects:family economic capital,family social capital and family cultural capital.By using the methods of questionnaire survey and in-depth interview,this paper analyzes the influence of family capital on the educational willingness of impoverished minority college students from multiple perspectives,and puts forward some targeted solutions according to the empirical research conclusions.It is found that family economic capital is positively correlated with educational willingness.There is a negative correlation between family social capital and educational willingness.There is a positive correlation between family cultural capital and educational willingness.The higher the parents’ annual income,the stronger their children’s educational willingness.The lower the parents’ occupational status,the higher their children’s educational willingness.The higher their parents’ educational level and educational expectation,the stronger their children’s educational willingness.However,the total annual cost of education,the access to obtain tuition and the occupation of relatives have no significant correlation with educational willingness.At present,there are mainly five problems in the educational willingness of impoverished minority college students in Guizhou province.First,the educational choice of "Conflict of Seeking and Avoiding" needs to be solved.Second,the choice of major of gender difference needs to be improved.Third,the educational expectation of impoverished family parents needs to be improved.Fourth,the quality of higher education needs to be promoted in Guizhou province.Fifth,the awareness and recognition of the "The Plan Recruitment of High-Level Key Minority Graduate Students" needs to be enhanced.Based on this,the paper puts forward the following five suggestions from the main body of impoverished minority college students themselves,their family,the school,the government,as well as the country.First,impoverished college students should set up clear goals and enhance ethnic pride.Second,parents should raise their expectations of family education and update their educational ideas in time.Third,schools should improve the quality of education in minority areas and strengthen the education with minority characteristics.Fourth,the relevant departments should strengthen the publicity of "The Plan Recruitment of High-Level Key Minority Graduate Students" and fully understand its importance.Fifth,the country should intensify education to help the impoverished and speed up the economic development of minority areas. |
