The Social Case Work Practice Of Building Social Support System For Distressed Families

In China’s vast rural areas,there are still a wide range of families who are in trouble because of disabilities,major diseases,major injuries,sudden changes.Because the social support system is not perfect,the family in trouble usually bears the multiple pressure of economy and psychology.The help work of the distressed family is not only related to the happiness of thousands of families,but also the inevitable requirement of the harmonious,stable and all-round development of the society.It is the common responsibility of the government and the society to help the families in trouble to get out of trouble.As a social organization that provides services for the disadvantaged,social work always adheres to the professional ideal of helping the needy,helping the needy families to get out of their difficulties,and building a stable and effective social support network,it is the professional mission of social work to promote the long-term healthy development of families in difficulty.Based on social support theory and general system theory,this paper describes and analyzes the intervention of social work in a village.The author uses the scale to assess the social support system of the case-owner,and analyzes the social support status and the main needs of the a family according to the result of the measurement.In the intervention stage,the author provided the specialized social worker intervention for the family,including mediating the family relations,linking the resources,the psychological counseling and so on,helped the a family to obtain more social support,helped the A family to extricate itself from the predicament.In the evaluation stage,the author conducted a post-test on a family,through interviews with the case owner,the community and the relatives and neighbors,as well as changes in the data before and after the test,we can draw the conclusion that after the intervention of social work services,the main problems faced by a family have been effectively solved,a family in difficulty has constructed a relatively perfect social support system,can use the resources positively to improve the family’s living standard,the service goal has been basically completed.This study shows that the use of case work method to help families in distress has certain advantages,can effectively help families solve problems,get rid of difficulties.The paper also summarizes the experience and reflection of the intervention process and service effect of this case work.The content of this study has accumulated the practical experience of assistance to families in distress,which can provide reference for the relevant government decision-making.
