Based on the differences of family resource endowment, various emergencies in the individual life process and the influence of external environment, there are still many families in difficult state, and they have urgent social support needs, and social work can play an important role in it.Based on the theory of social support, this study takes the social support system of families in B town of Beijing as the research object, and adopts the methods of in-depth interview and participatory observation to collect empirical data. This study conducted interviews with 20 families in town B through field visits, initially mastered the situation of the families in difficulty, summarized the basic situation of the families in difficulty and the main difficulties they faced, and analyzed the social support status and needs of the families in difficulty. There are two types of families in trouble in town B,Shunyi District,Beijing. One is the families of disabled people, such as incapacity, dementia, loss of independence, old age and solitary residence, and the other is the families of the severely disabled with difficulties in life. The survey found that they are generally under great pressure in economy, health and pension, facing difficulties in employment, great care pressure, heavy psychological burden and inadequate welfare policy enjoyment. The existing social support of the families in town B is divided into two categories: one is formal support provided by the state, institutions and other subjects, and the other is informal support provided by relatives, neighbors and other interpersonal relationships. From the current situation, the formal support of difficult families is rich, and informal support is insufficient.Formal support is mainly reflected in financial and social service support; The lack of informal support is due to the weak family support of families in difficult situations. From the perspective of demand, the formal support needs of the current difficult families include economic support, employment support and improvement of life quality;Informal support needs include emotional support, medical support and social communication.Based on the results of the investigation, the paper intervenes the problems of the families in difficulty by the method of case work.Taking Chen as the key service object, the author combines the theory of social support, empowerment theory and advantage perspective theory, explores the deep needs of the case owner, focuses on the existing advantages and resources of the case owner, and takes potential economic support as the starting point in the intervention, and gradually optimizes the in-depth emotional support, thus improving the situation of the lack of support for the case owner. After joint evaluation with the case owner, the case is successfully closed with the consent of the case owner. Finally, based on the reflection and summary, the practical skills of social work intervention in difficult families are put forward.Social workers should establish a standardized professional relationship with the case owner when they intervene in difficult families, adhere to the principle of individualization in service, put the material and spiritual needs of individuals on the same important position and pay attention to the recovery of family functions of the individual.Through the summary and promotion of experience, the paper puts forward the social work strategy of optimizing the social support system of difficult families. We need to help the members of families in difficulties form a social support network with the support of the family as the core, the government support as the guarantee, the community social organizations, neighbors and community support as the supplement,so as to help the difficult families get rid of the difficulties and realize the family development.
