Research On The Reconstruction Of Social Support Network For Distressed Families

In 2020,China has achieved comprehensive poverty alleviation in rural areas.Even so,consolidating poverty alleviation achievements is still one of the most important tasks at present.However,there are still some families facing various difficulties that many factors lead to.For example,family members are less healthy physically and have lost their working capability due to illness or disability,expenditure on children’s education,high medical expenses and so on.Another very important reason is that troubled families often have an imperfect social support system,and they cannot rely on their own ability to solve various problems.Therefore,such troubled families need the intervention of external forces to help them solve their survival problems,construct a social support system,and restore their confidence in life.This study was based on field investigations of H Village,Hongguang Town,Helan County of Yinchuan in Ningxia.With the method of interview and scale,the author studied present situation and existing problems of social support of 5 troubled families,and analyzed the causes of insufficient social support for those families.On this basis,the author adopted the case social work method to provide services for a troubled family with a special situation in H village.The author tried to use the basic concepts and professional methods of case work to explore how to solve the difficulties faced by troubled families and strengthen their social support systems.In the process of individual cases,the author carefully observed the current situation of social support of the service object in accordance with the professional skills of social work,analyzed the hidden problems of social support,recorded and summarized in detail.Subsequently,according to the comparison between pretest and post-test of the Social Support Scale,the transformation of service objects,etc.,this case service was evaluated from both the process and the results.According to the case service results,with the help of the author,the self-identity of the service objects was enhanced,the social support system for troubled families was improved,the social support utilization was consolidated,and a long-term assistance mechanism was formed.At last,combined with the author’s investigation and analysis of the current situation of formal and informal social support for troubled families,the author put forward some suggestions on the construction of the social support system for troubled families:firstly,improve the social security system;Secondly,strengthen community support;Thirdly,improve the informal supports,including support within the family,support from relatives and friends,and support from neighbors.
