| In recent years,under the guidance of the Communist Party and state policies,social work has developed rapidly,and the number of social workers has increased significantly.However,with the rapid development of social work,it is also faced with the problems of low professional identity and brain drain.Therefore,the professional identity of social worker has become the focus of social work industry.COVID-19 broke out in 2020,social workers actively responded to the call of the state and people and actively participated in the fight against COVID-19.This public health emergency is undoubtedly a development opportunity and a severe challenge for social work.Compared with the normal working situation,both professional and technical skills of social work and the professional identity of social workers are greatly impacted by COVID-19.The professional identity of social workers is related to the construction of social work talent team in China,and also related to the professionalization and specialization process of social work.Improving social workers’ professional identity plays an important role in promoting the professionalization and specialization of social work.At the same time,it is also conducive to the expansion of social work talent team to meet the current social needs for professional social work.Therefore,this article is based on the theory of social identity and adopts qualitative research methods,taking Wuhan social workers who fight against COVID-19 as the research object,and describes their understanding and understanding of their occupation based on their work,life and psychological state,so as to explore the process of public health emergencies affecting social workers’ Professional identity,and from the change of the social workers’ occupation identity.In the process,we have insight into the changing rules of cognitive,emotional and behavioral factors.And on this basis,from the social workers themselves,service objects and institutions,government and society and other levels to explore the reasons for the change of professional identity,so as to put forward effective strategies to enhance the professional identity of social workers.It is found that the development of the professional identity of social workers under public health emergencies has gone through three periods,namely,the normal working period-(the relative stationary period),the COVID-19 emergency control period-(the impact period),the COVID-19 normal control period-(the crisis adjustment period).During the crisis adjustment period,due to the influence of social workers’ professional level and comprehensive quality,family and peer support,service object feedback,institutional support and other factors,some social workers’ professional identity has increased and entered a rising stable period.On the contrary,some social workers have a decline in their professional identity,and even have the idea of changing careers.Based on the analysis of the development process and influencing factors of social workers’professional identity in public emergencies,the author puts forward some suggestions to enhance their professional identity from the following aspects:first,social workers should strengthen their professional theoretical knowledge and self-examination ability to meet the professional needs of social work under the special background;second,institutions should strengthen support for social workers and increase their sense of belonging to the organization.Third,the government and society should increase the publicity of social work participation in epidemic prevention and control,improve the awareness and recognition of social work,and optimize the current development environment of social work;at the same time,the system of social work intervention in public emergencies should be established based on the successful experience of social work participation in epidemic prevention and control to standardize and define the responsibilities and roles of each professional team involved in public emergencies. |
