Research On The Influence Of Social Workers' Professional Identity And Social Identity On Their Professional Identity

This thesis takes the development of the specialized social work as the background,based on the current cultivation and management situation of social workers,and it discusses the current vocational identity of social workers and the influence of professional and social identification.In this era,the country's promotion has put a great impact on social work,while social workers are an indispensable part of the professionalization of social work.What should be emphasized is that the active vocational identity is conducive for social workers to achieve their goals in their social work careers and also helps stabilize social worker teams,so as to improve the professionalized degree of social work in China.The thesis adopted the quantitative analysis method,selected a total of 161 talents who had received professional education of social work as study objects,carried out the research and analysis through the measuring scale and questionnaires about vocational,professional and social identity,and used the software of SPSS 23.0 to conduct descriptive statistics,correlation analysis,and regression analysis on the data of questionnaires.The conclusions drawn from this study are as follow: Firstly,the average score of vocational identity of social workers reached 3.6141,which is at a medium level;gender and professional background have placed no effect on vocational identity of social workers,while social workers' different learning statuses and the reasons in choosing professions bring about remarkable discrepancies in professional identification.The nature of work units and pay satisfaction have nothing to do with the vocational identity of the social workers,but whether people's careers are in accordance with their professions has much to do with the differences of the vocational identity;besides,factors like the support degree of service objects,the cultural environment of social worker organizations,and the support of relatives and friends can put significant impact on the professional identification of social workers.Secondly,the professional identity of social work talents influences more on vocational identity than on social identity.Among the four factors of professional identity,behavioral propensity and affection affect the vocational identity level of social workers.Among the three factors of social identity,ascription assessment and the sense of belongingness affect the level of vocational identity.Finally,on the basis of the findings of this study,the author put forward suggestions accordingly from four aspects of governments,social worker institutions,universities and social work talents themselves to improve the vocational identity level of social workers and to stabilize the social worker teams.
