In the new era,the main contradictions in our society have changed.People’s pursuit of a better life is not only reflected in the level of material life,but also in the higher level requirements of spiritual life.Therefore,since the 18 th anniversary of the Communist Party of China,the state has paid more attention to strengthening the construction of civil morality,which is based on promoting the practice of social morality with the main contents of civility,helping others,taking care of public property,protecting the environment and abiding by laws and disciplines.Among them,strengthening social morality education in Colleges and universities not only helps to improve the self-development of college students,but also helps the whole society to form a virtuous circle of advocating morality and promoting the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.Social morality is the moral code at the bottom of the moral system to regulate people’s public life and public communication.The essence of social morality education is to improve the consciousness of social morality,cultivate the emotion of social morality and form the habit of social morality.In the new era,the social morality education in Colleges and universities has achieved remarkable results.The general moral quality of college students is higher,the cognition of social morality is perfect,and the ideological and political theory courses are getting better and better.The idea of cultivating morality and cultivating people runs through the whole process of school education,and the theoretical research results in the field of social morality are fruitful.However,there are still some deficiencies in the social morality education in Colleges and universities,such as attaching importance to knowledge but neglecting practice,lack of innovation in teaching content,single teaching form,limited practical activities,imperfect moral assessment and evaluation system,and insufficient cohesion among various links in the social morality education system.In view of these problems,this paper takes the basic structure of Ideological and political education as the analysis framework,starting from the education subject,education object,education medium and education ring,analyzes the causes of these problems,and puts forward corresponding improvement measures.College teachers and students are the subject and object of education respectively.Teachers and students interact in a two-way way way.Teachers are the leading role and students are the main body.The educational medium,which plays the role of bridge and link,mainly refers to the educational content and teaching form,which requires to add new era content to the education of students’ awareness of public morality,public morality emotion and behavior habits;in terms of teaching methods,the curriculum should be improved and the proportion of practical activities should be increased.In the aspect of education environment,it is required to strengthen the construction of moral assessment system,campus public morality environment and the social environment around students.The social morality education of college students in the new era is a systematic and comprehensive problem.College education is an important link,an important part of Ideological and political education,and an important guarantee to promote the construction of socialist spiritual civilization.
