| The demand of economic development for talents trained by vocational education drives the reform of secondary vocational education.The secondary vocational school student association has the dual effect of managing and educating students.It not only has the function of self-service,but also has a positive effect on the cultivation and promotion of vocational students’ professional quality.With the growth of the number of secondary vocational students’ associations and the expanding scope of their activities,the associations are facing some management problems while achieving certain achievements.This study combs the relevant research on the functions,management problems and development of secondary vocational school students’ associations in domestic and foreign literature,and investigates the current situation students’ associations construction,student participation,teachers support,the situation of student administrators,the situations of foreign exchange and students’ associations activity resource guarantee in secondary vocational school X by questionnaire and interview.The study found that: X vocational school student association management is in good condition.The community management system of Communist Youth League in X vocational school points out the direction for the development of student associations and it also provides the basic route for the operation of student associations.The existence and activities of student associations in secondary vocational schools contribute to the cultivation and improvement of students’ professional quality.Most of the instructors and student managers of student associations have a good evaluation of student associations,which is the basis of public opinion for the continuation and expansion of student associations in secondary vocational schools.However,there are also some problems in the management of secondary vocational students’ associations.The students in secondary vocational schools have no strong motivation to participate in the community and lack of enthusiasm for continuous participation.The student associations in secondary vocational schools are faced with many development problems,such as insufficient support from schools,insufficient autonomy in the development of student associations,and the management system of some student associations is not suitable for the current management reality.There is a lack of guidance teachers in secondary vocational school students’ associations,and the existing guidance teachers are not professional.The management ability of student managers in secondary vocational school student associations is poor.Most secondary vocational students’ associations have realized the importance of foreign exchange.But they have few opportunities to engage in external activities.The main reasons for the problems in the management of X school associations are as follows: Student associations of secondary vocational schools lack the support of guiding ideology of running a school and campus culture.The guiding ideology of running a school does not give enough care to the student associations,and the student associations also lack the corresponding campus culture nourishment.The absence and lag of the management system of student associations:Part of the current system does not meet the needs of the current management of student associations,at the same time,the management of studentassociations also lacks the corresponding incentive and supervision system.The instructors of student associations are not effectively trained.The selection standard of student managers is not perfect and the teacher and student manager lack the targeted management training.There is no such mechanism for student associations to cooperate with units outside the school.The Resources Guarantee System for associations’ activities has not been established,which leads to the lack of necessary guarantee(Activity fund,activity time and activity site)for the activities of student associations.In order to solve the problems found above,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: We should take the following actions to improve the enthusiasm of secondary vocational students to participate in student association activities:We can make use of the good secondary vocational campus culture to create a connotative student association.And we also need to advertise for our student community to increase recognition.We also need to carry on the ideological education to the secondary vocational students according to their characteristics,so as to guide them to choose their own student associations.We should also take the following measures to improve the quality of secondary vocational school student association managers:On the one hand,it is necessary to carry out relevant management training for the instructors of student associations to improve their management level and quality.On the other hand,we should improve the incentive system for their work to ensure that they are active in guiding work.At the same time,it should be clear that the selection criteria of student managers in student associations and the schools should provide them with necessary training.The school should update and refine the management regulations of student associations to adapt to the current situation and improve its supervision and punishment system.Secondary vocational schools should establish contact with enterprises to form a benign interactive atmosphere by harmonizing the needs of both sides and doing so can also enhance the vitality of the development of student associations.Funds,time and activity venues should be integrated into a system to build a good resource supply system and improve the efficiency of resource supply. |
