CUBA College Basketball League has become the main force of basketball sports in China.With the development of modern basketball and the improvement of training skills and tactics,the training requirements for high level athletes in colleges and universities are gradually improved.For college female basketball players,the freshman period is the key point of transition from high school to university,which is an important transition period,run-in period and transition period.Therefore,the recruitment of high level basketball players is only the beginning of the development of college basketball,the most important thing is to do a good job in the training and management of the athletes.Motivation influences behavior change,and training motivation directly influences the training effect of athletes.Therefore,it is particularly important to study the characteristics,influencing factors and development countermeasures of the change of training motivation of female basketball players in freshman year.The change of motivation can not be separated from the change of mental state.In the theory of self-determination,the basic psychological needs are an important part that affects the psychological state of athletes.To this end,this paper comprehensively and accurately grasps the change of training motivation of first-year athletes of CUBA women’s four strong sports teams,tries to find some effective means and methods to stimulate and improve their training motivation,provides theoretical support for the establishment of countermeasures,and improves the training quality of reserve talents.It is of great theoretical significance and practical value to promote the high quality development of women’s basketball in universities in China.In this study,the development of women’s basketball in China,the sports motivation of basketball players and the related theory of psychology were reviewed through the method of literature.Using the method of testing,this paper conducted a questionnaire test on the training motivation and basic psychological needs of the firstyear athletes of the 21 st CUBA women’s team in six different periods(the beginning,the middle and the end of two semesters)after entering the university.This paper also makes a systematic analysis on the change of training motivation of the first-year athletes in the CUBA women’s team,which will provide valuable information and suggestions for the training of women’s basketball reserve talents in our universities.The study showed:(1)In six different periods of one year after entering CUBA,the total score of training motivation showed a trend of first increasing,then decreasing and then increasing,and the training motivation of the athletes in the beginning of the second semester was the weakest.Athletes are most motivated to train at the end of the second semester.(2)The change of training motivation of freshman female basketball players is related to the four sub-dimensions of internal regulation,integration regulation,identification regulation and internalization regulation,and has nothing to do with the two sub-dimensions of external regulation and unmotivation.(3)The practice proves that the four sub-dimensions of internal regulation,integrated regulation,identification regulation and introspective regulation of female basketball players in the freshman year are the lowest at the beginning of the second semester and the highest at the end of the second semester respectively,which is consistent with the overall law.Based on this,the author puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Coaches should pay more attention to and evaluate the training motivation.Coaches should give feedback to athletes’ training motivation at each stage of different semesters(the beginning,the middle and the end of the semester),conduct scale tests for the players and record the change process,and adjust the training state of athletes in time according to the change situation.(2)Coaches should understand the current situation of training motivation and intervene in training to promote and improve the motivation.According to different personality and different levels of athletes to choose different ways of strengthening management.(3)Coaches and athletes should grasp the key factors that affect training motivation in training.Whether it is the independent training of athletes or the encouragement and guidance of coaches,it is necessary to find out the influencing factors of maintaining a good training state.
