In 2019,the "Healthy China Action(2019-2030)" clearly stated in the action target content that by 2020,more than 50 percent of Chinese students’ physical health standards should be qualified and good,and by 2030,the rate of qualified and excellent physical health of students should exceed 60 percent or more.Physical exercise is an effective way to enhance physical fitness,and the most important thing to improve athletic ability is the satisfaction of basic psychological needs and the level of self-determination motivation.This article is based on self-determination motivation theory,to explore the characteristics of the junior middle school students’ self-determination motivation,and the difference of basic psychological needs and the characteristics of the junior middle school students take part in physical exercise,and also further analyzes the relations between the three variables,is conducive to motivation internalization,promote students to actively participate in various sports activities and competition,is conducive to shihezi city junior high school students develop physical exercise Good habits,as well as suggestions for other schools to better promote physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior,provide ideological lines for teachers to explain and intervene exercise behavior.Mathematical statistics,interview and questionnaire are the main research methods used in this study.A total of 1000 junior high school students from 8 schools in Shihezi City were surveyed.SPSS27.0 software and EXCEL2019 were used to process the sample data.In the data analysis,the difference test,correlation and regression analysis were carried out for each variable.In data analysis,exploratory factor analysis and reliability and validity analysis were used to test the applicability of the two scales.Descriptive statistics,independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance were used to analyze the overall characteristics of each variable and the characteristics of different demographic variables.Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between exercise behavior,psychological needs and self-determination motivation of junior high school students.Linear regression analysis was used to study the influence of the above three variables.Finally,three-step regression was used to test the mediating effect.The results show that:1.There are significant differences in the physical exercise behavior of junior high school students in Shihezi City in terms of gender,origin and grade demographic indicators.The physical activity of junior high school boys is higher than that of girls,the physical activity of urban students is higher than that of youth league field students,and the physical activity of grade 9 students is higher than that of grade 7 and 8 students.In terms of basic psychological needs,the ability needs of junior high school students in physical activities are greater than the relationship needs and autonomy needs.Among the scores of various types of self-determined motivation,the scores of identity regulation,extrinsic regulation and internal regulation were higher than those of other types of regulation.2.The basic psychological needs,self-determination motivation and exercise behavior of junior middle school students in Shihezi City are significantly and positively correlated.Further regression shows that the three basic psychological needs of junior high school students have a positive effect on the prediction of self-determination motivation,and self-determination motivation has a significant role in promoting junior high school students to participate in exercise.To provide reference for junior high school students’ physical health.3.Through the mediating effect test,it is found that basic psychological needs promote the physical exercise behavior of junior middle school students in Shihezi mainly through self-determined motivation.Self-determined motivation plays an inestimable role in promoting the generation and maintenance of sports behavior,that is,self-determined motivation has a major mediating effect between the two variables.
