With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,digital technology has penetrated into various fields,and more and more college teachers have come into contact with digital scholarship work.Under the background of knowledge transformation,the value of digital scholarship is recognized,the appearance of alternative econometrics provides technical support for digital scholarship evaluation,and the inclusion of digital scholarship evaluation in the college teachers professional title evaluation has gradually attracted the attention of the society.Since the end of the last century,some professional associations and colleges in the United States have made some explorations on digital scholarship evaluation and its inclusion in the college teachers’ professional title evaluation,and have made some achievements.This study focuses on the exploration of digital academic evaluation to be included in the American college teachers professional title evaluation.Based on the analysis of the ideological basis and social motivation of digital scholarship inclusion in the American college teachers professional title evaluation,this study provides a text analysis of the guidelines for the inclusion of digital scholarship evaluation in the American college teacher professional title evaluation developed by the professional associations,and introduces the cases of two American colleges and two teachers engaged in digital scholarship work who successfully passed the professional title evaluation.This paper finds that the main measures to strengthen digital scholarship evaluation in the American college teacher professional title evaluation are to hire reviewers who can be competent in digital scholarship evaluation,to include digital scholarship achievements in the scope of professional title evaluation content,to take full account of the non-academic contribution of digital scholarship achievements and to establish special professional title evaluation management organization.In the reform of the professional title evaluation,our country has paid great attention to the policy aspect,some colleges have carried out some exploration under the guidance of the government but are still in the preliminary exploration stage.This study combines the current situation of our country with the experiences of the United States,provides some enlightenment for the reform of China’s professional title evaluation.This study holds that digital scholarship is a new type of academic form,and it is an inevitable trend of the Age’s development to include digital scholarship evaluation in the college teacher professional title evaluation,strengthening digital scholarship evaluation in the professional title evaluation needs to be reformed in terms of subject,content,standard and management of professional title evaluation.
