With the upgrading and transformation of China’s industrial structure,the social demand for professionals is increasing,and the requirements are getting higher and higher.Secondary vocational education plays an increasingly important role in China’s modern education system.As the reserve force of skilled talents,secondary vocational students need to have certain theoretical knowledge,solid skills,good comprehensive quality,which requires a higher level of learning engagement.In the learning process,teacher-student interaction is indispensable,and the impact of teacher-student relationship on the learning engagement of secondary vocational students cannot be ignored.A good teacher-student relationship is the key to cultivate high-quality skilled talents.However,in the past research on the impact of teacher-student relationship on students’ learning engagement,the special group of secondary vocational students is rarely involved,and there are few related researches on secondary vocational education.Therefore,this paper focuses on the teacher-student relationship and learning engagement of secondary vocational school students.The methods of this research include questionnaire survey,interview.Taking733 secondary vocational students of agriculture related majors,medical and health majors in X vocational school as the research object,uses the "Teacher-Student Relationship Scale" and "Learning Engagement Scale" with good reliability and validity to measure,respectively carries out the overall and difference analysis,as well as the regression analysis of two variables,to explore the current situation and relationship between the teacher-student relationship and learning engagement of secondary vocational students.And putting forward the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the relationship between teachers and students in secondary vocational school and increase the learning investment of secondary vocational school students.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The teacher-student relationship of secondary vocational students is general,and there is avoidance behavior in teacher-student interaction.(2)The learning engagement is generally at a medium level,and the influence of teachers is the key factor.(3)There are differences in the teacher-student relationship of secondary vocational students in gender,grade,major,academic performance;and there are differences in the learning engagement in gender,grade,major and academic performance.(4)There is a significant correlation between teacher-student relationship and learning engagement of secondary vocational students.Among them,the intimacy and avoidance dimensions can effectively predict learning engagement,and intimacy relationship is helpful to improve learning engagement.In light of the findings,based on the theoretical foundation,there are some educational suggestions,including: For teachers,changing the educational concept,viewing the secondary vocational school students positively;loving the secondary vocational school students,giving them more positive emotional physical examination;giving teachers expectations,enhancing vocational students academic self-confidence;adopting multiple evaluation mechanism to correctly evaluate secondary vocational students.For schools,carrying out multi-channel training,improving the professional quality of secondary vocational teachers;arranging reasonable tasks,improving the treatment of secondary vocational teachers;carrying on the meta-cognition strategy instruction,letting vocational students learn to study;carrying on vocational students psychological counseling,attaching importance to mental health education;paying attention to the mental health of secondary vocational school teachers,relieving emotions and regulate pressure.For students,improving cognitive ability,handling interpersonal relationships correctly;having right self-understanding,correcting learning purpose.
