Employment proves to be one of the critical tasks for the individual vocational graduate. However,a number of graduates of vocationals, who cannot have a correctly comprehensive understanding on the social environment, therefore, have failed to hold accurate and appropriate positioning as well as adequate self-understanding.That is,they have inclined to be of blindness and inconformity in employment.Amidst the backdrop, starting with the investigation on the relationship and gender differences between social support, career futures inventory, job search self-efficacy and job search of vocational students, this research makes research on the factors affecting the job search of vocational students;meanwhile,it is also exploring the possibility of upgrading the level of students’ job search and promoting their employment.Targeted with 339 students in vocational colleges, the research employed questionnaire survey in order for investigating and analyzed the social support, career aspirations,job-seeking effectiveness and career exploration status of higher vocational students. The finding was that compared to that of higher vocational girls, higher vocational boys were featured by significantly higher-level vocational exploration, active job-seeking behavior and general job-seeking behavior.Beyond that, those boys were also characterized by dramatically higher professional optimism and cognitive knowledge comparison to the higher vocational girls. In terms of social support, objective support and social support utilization, higher vocational girls tend to hold higher level than boys. However, there was no significant difference in the comparison. On the basis of the analysis on the current situation, such statistical analysis methods as intermediary effect analysis were utilized to investigate the relationship model and gender differences between the following four elements: social support, career aspiration,job-hunting effectiveness and career exploration. Here are the results:(1)Two positive correlations were existing between social support, career aspirations,job-seeking effectiveness and career exploration among vocational students.Among the dimensions, except objective support and some dimensions, the rest dimensions existed in significant positive correlations in pairs.(2)Through regression analysis, social support worked as a significant positive impact on career exploration.(3)According to the results of the analysis and comparison on the path of the intermediary effect model, the social support harbored by higher vocational students could exert effects upon career exploration based on career aspiration and job-seeking effectiveness. Then, the chain intermediary was established.(4)In the influence of social support, the professional ambition and job-seeking effectiveness shown by higher vocational boys exert a partial role of intermediation in influencing career exploration;the professional aspiration and job-seeking effectiveness exerted by higher vocational girls play an intermediary role in influencing social support on career exploration. In virtue of analyzing the current situation of social support, career futures inventory, job search self-efficacy and job search of vocational students, this study, which provides new contents and objects for job search on the explorations, verifies the intermediary model and compares the chain mediation effect model of students of different genders.Besides,it also offers some positive advice on understanding the vocational psychology of vocational students and enhancing their job search ability based on facilitating vocational tutors to carry out their jobs in vocational colleges.
