| The rapid development of Tibet’s tourism industry calls for higher requirements for the quality of tourism professionals.To this end,the state and local governments have issued relevant policies to help the cultivation of tourism talents in secondary vocational schools.However,the disconnection between Tibet’s tour guide professionals and market demand is still prominent.Tibet’s secondary vocational schools are responsible for cultivating high-quality tour guide professionals.Therefore,it is urgent to improve the teaching method of "tour guide business" to promote the quality of tour guide professional training.This paper aims to improve the teaching quality of "tour guide business" course in Lhasa second secondary vocational and technical school through the experimental research of project-based teaching method,so as to provide some reference for the cultivation of Tibetan tour guide talents to certain extent.Taking the teaching of “tour guide business” as an example in Lhasa secondary vocational and technical school,this study takes 110 students and 7 teachers as the research object to carry out the experimental research.The research first conducts the survey of student questionnaire and teacher questionnaire on the teaching status of “tour guide business”.The results of the questionnaire survey show that students are not interested in the course of tour guide business,and the main reason for students’ lack of interest is that the teaching methods adopted by teachers are unfavourable.Many students think that project-based teaching method and role-playing method are helpful for their course learning.The students are not satisfied with the teaching effect of tour guide business.The main factors influencing the teaching effect are concluded as teachers’ teaching methods,teachers’ personal knowledge and teaching equipment.The teaching evaluation method is mainly single evaluating,and students hope that teachers will use multiple evaluating methods more.The results of the teacher questionnaire show that among the "tour guide business" teachers,“double teacher” teachers account for a relatively small proportion,and students’ ability cannot meet the needs of employers.Currently,tour guide training room in the school cannot meet the requirements of teaching.Teachers add that the role-playing and projectbased teaching method is helpful to students.Based on the analysis of the course,the paper designs the projectbased teaching method according to its design principle,content design and implementation steps.Then,before the teaching experiment of the projectbased teaching method,the author conducted a pre-test paper survey on the students of the tour guide service majors in class 2019 in Lhasa secondary vocational school,and found no difference in the two classes’ pre-test grades.On this basis,students are divided into two classes,Class A and Class B.Class A is the experimental group and class B is the control group.Then the experimental research on project-based teaching method is carried out.Class A is taught under the guidance of project-based teaching method,class B is taught by traditional teaching method.After the experiment,a post-test is conducted in the two classes.The results show that grades of the experimental group have been improved,especially students’ ability of communication and organization coordination.This indicates that the project-based teaching method can improve the students’ performance,cultivate the students’ ability of communication and organizational coordination,help to cultivate the students’ practical ability,and promote students’ tour guiding ability.It also helps to strengthen the communication between teachers and students,promoting the relationship between them.In order to further explore the teaching effect of project-based teaching method and the problems that should be paid attention to in the process of its development and implementation,this study carried out a questionnaire and teacher interview survey on the teaching effect of project-based teaching method.The results show that the project-based teaching method has higher requirements for teaching content and teaching equipment,and the teacher’s ability is the key factor affecting the teaching effect of the project-based teaching method.To this end,suggestions are put forward,namely reasonable selection of teaching projects,timely update of teaching equipment,and construction of “double teacher”teachers. |
