The Chinese University Volleyball Association represents the highest-level college competition in China.Some retired athletes or elite college players are gathered in this sport field,and they are an important part of our country’s volleyball talent crew.The cultivation of these athletes is related to the sustainable development of China’s volleyball and the quality of talent cultivation in colleges and universities.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out investigation and research on this group.In high-level volleyball matches,there are not only competitions between teams at technical and tactical levels,but also the “duel” between players’ ability of psychological and emotional control.A stable psychological performance can often be an important guarantee for obtaining key game points and key scores.Through combing the previous studies,it is found that coaches’ leadership behavior,self-confidence in sports state,and group cohesion have a certain impact on athletes’ competition performance,which is also an important content discussed by related experts.This study conducts a questionnaire survey on the levels of aforementioned three factors of female volleyball players in the Northern Division of the Chinese University Volleyball Association(CUVA)in 2019-2020.This study mainly uses psychological measurement,mathematical statistics,and expert interviews to describe and analyze the performance and relationship of the three factors.The main result is that the self-confidence of the sports state has an intermediary effect in this research group.The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for the psychological adjustment of sports players in colleges and universities,and indirectly provide a reference for the improvement of the quality of sports talents training in colleges and universities.The results of the study are as follows:1.The coaches’ leadership behavior and group cohesion perceived by the university female volleyball players are at a good level,while their self-confidence in sports state is at a moderate level.2.There is a certain correlation between the coaches’ leadership behavior,self-confidence in sports state and group cohesion perceived by university female volleyball players;the coach’s leadership behavior has a predictive effect on self-confidence in sports state and group cohesion.Group cohesion also plays a predictive role.3.University female volleyball players’ self-confidence in sports state has an intermediary effect between coaches’ leadership behavior and group cohesion.Four clear paths have been found,Social supportive behavior →competitive condition confidence → achievement attraction;social supportive behavior →competitive condition confidence → social attraction;autocratic behavior →competitive condition confidence → social attraction;democratic behavior→competitive condition confidence → achievement coherence.The research conclusions are as follows:1.The average values of coaches’ leadership behavior and group cohesion levels are higher than those of the predecessors,indicating that university female volleyball players are more affirmative to coaches’ guidance and arrangements,they have a higher degree of identity with the team,and the relationship between the players is more harmonious.2.When the coaches provide more social support behavior,democratic behavior and autocratic behavior,it is helpful to enhance university female volleyball players’ self-confidence.The more consistent the task goals between the coaches and the players,the higher their self-confidence is.3.The coach’s leadership behavior perceived by university female volleyball players can directly affect the level of group cohesion,and it can also have an indirect effect through the self-confidence of the sports state,and the latter has a more far-reaching impact.Suggestions are as follows:1.In view of the fact that the self-confidence of the university female volleyball team is at a moderate level,it is recommended that the coaches should start from themselves,from the various dimensions of the coach’s behavior,and choose an appropriate way to cultivate excellent teams.For example,adjust democratic behavior,participate more to communicate with team players,reform autocratic behavior and choose a reasonable level of authoritarian behavior to stimulate the potential of the team players to develop their confidence.2.In view of the fact that there are four paths that have the most obvious intermediary effect in the model construction,it is recommended that the coaches take the four paths as a reference in the process of leading the team to purposefully strengthen the weak points of the team.
