Research On Birth Policy Support Based On Family Birth Intention Survey In WuXi

Fertility intention has long been a topic of great concern to sociology and demography.Since January 1,2016,the comprehensive two-child policy has been implemented in China,its function needs a series of birth support policies to assist.The research on the impact of fertility support policies on urban fertility intention will help the relevant national departments to estimate the overall trend of China’s population in the future period,thus providing a reliable reference for the government to formulate and adjust population policies.This paper comprehensively summarizes the research results of domestic and foreign scholars on fertility intention and influencing factors and summarizes relevant theories.Take Wu Xi city as an example,this paper adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,literature research and interview,and analyzes the impact of fertility support policy on fertility intention from the theoretical and empirical perspectives.The impact of composition of fertility support policies and the implement effect of fertility support policies on intentions is analyzed from the theoretical perspective with the combination of research literature and the development experience of developed countries.The empirical analysis mainly adopts the method of questionnaire survey to investigate the family situation,fertility intention and cognition of fertility support policy of urban and rural residents in Wu Xi.The respondents are mainly aged between 20 and 60 years old.A total of 271 valid questionnaires are collected and some of them are interviewed.Based on the background information of the respondents collected in the questionnaire,cross-analysis was conducted,the fertility intention of residents was investigated from three perspectives: the number of ideal children,the sex of ideal children and the interval of ideal birth time.Based on the results of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,comparing the birth support system in developed countries and Wu Xi,the paper puts forward the problems existing in the design and implementation of current birth support policies: insufficient publicity,imperfect supporting system,heavy economic burden and numerous derivative problemsCombining the actual situation of fertility intention reflected by survey and the experience of developed countries,this paper puts forward corresponding suggestions about policy to strengthen residents’ fertility intention from the following perspectives:strengthening propaganda,perfecting supporting system,stabilizing economic development,strengthening population monitoring and etc.
