The Basic Characteristics And Revelations Of The Professional Development Of American Sports Coaches

Sports coaches are an important supporting force for the development of national sports undertakings.Their teaching ability and training level are related to a country’s sports competitiveness and development level,and professional development is the key to continuously improve the coaching level and social identity of coaches.Due to the late start of the professional development of sports coaches,there are still insufficient researches on how to train excellent sports coaches according to the national conditions and how to find the development path suitable for the professional development of sports coaches in China.Therefore,from the perspective of specialization,this study explores and draws on the experience of the United States in the professional development of sports coaches,puts forward Suggestions for the professional development of sports coaches in China,provides theoretical support for the cultivation of excellent coaches,and thus lays a talent foundation for the construction of a sports power.This paper uses the literature material method,analysis,induction,case analysis and other research methods,Using the professional development learning model of coaches proposed by Nelson and Coombs,a famous British sports coach scholar,as the theoretical analysis framework,this paper studied the three development paths of professional development of American sports coaches from formal,non-formal and informal,summarizes the basic characteristics of its development and the experience and enlightenment,draw lessons from its development advantages,in order to provide help for coaches professional development in our country.The conclusion is as follows:1.The professional development of American sports coaches is relatively early and attaches great importance to it.It is mainly led by social organizations,and the system and national conditions are quite different from those in China.2.This paper analyzes the professional development of American sports coaches from the perspectives of formal,non-formal and informal development paths by using the analytical framework,It is found that the professional development of American sports coaches is dominated by social organizations,Professional standards and hierarchy of sports coaches,The combination of formal,non-formal and informal development path is flexible and systematic,The study course is comprehensive and way is diversified,Standardized assessment system,Communication internationalization,Coaches’ training objectives are clear and intuitive,The development of coaches is subjective and the guarantee system is specific.3.Through the study of American sports coaches professionalization development,can be concluded that the experience and enlightenment: The construction of reasonable clear sports coaches training structure,Establish complementary formal,non-formal and informal development paths,Implement strict assessment and grading system,Develop a variety of ways for coaches to learn,Establish and perfect regulatory framework and management system,Set up the perfect development safeguard mechanism.
