The employment for vocational college graduates has long been a top concern of vocational education and one of the most frequently discussed issues.In the face of a sharp rise in college graduates,students from secondary vocational schools find themselves inferior to their rivals holding college degrees or professional certifications in job market.Confronted with fierce competition in job market,secondary vocational school students are supposed to give priority to finding out the subjective and realistic factors which have decisive influence on their employment before taking a decision on future career.Career decision-making self-efficacy,as a reflection of an individual’s confidence and competence in decision-making and job-related task completion,largely determines a person’s involvement,investment,self-understanding and problem-solving ability and further facilitates secondary vocational school students to set their goals and make a well-informed career choice.At present,there are few studies on the influence of Big Five personality on the career decision-making self-efficacy of secondary vocational school students.To probe into the uncharted domain,the article studied through the lens of Big Five personality and career decision-making self-efficacy among secondary vocational school participants.Research methods including literature review,questionnaire survey and statistic analysis were adopted to detect and analyze variables such as gender,grade,family influence and roles taken at school,which led to the conclusion on the interrelationship between Big Five personality and career decision-making self-efficacy.Referring to the analysis results,factors including existing problems,general features and self-efficacy profile of secondary vocational school participants were concluded.The discussion part focused on two distinctive variables,gender and roles taken at school.Moreover,the article proposed strategic and instructive advice on self-promotion and self-efficacy for students receiving secondary vocational education.
