The major responsibility of high school students is to learn, master and accumulate knowledge.Learning burnout not only causes learning inefficiency and low score, but also induces physical and mental issues, which further exacerbates the learning burnout.Studies have shown that self-efficacy and personality traits as internal individual factors have certain predictive effect on learning burnout.Based on this, this study explores the interaction and characteristics among proactive personality, career decision-making self-efficacy and learning burnout faced by high school students, and finds new ways to relieve learning burnout from theoretical level. In this study,888 high school students from five high schools in Hunan province were selected as the research subjects. The results obtained are as follows.1.Learning burnout is significantly different in the aspects of gender and type of school. The degree of learning burnout of boys is significantly lower than that of girls, and the degree of students in provincial model high schools is significantly lower than that of students in non-provincial model high schools. In each dimension of learning burnout, there is a significant difference in academic alienation between the only child and the non-only child, and the score of non-only child is higher than that of the only child.Academic alienation and physical and mental exhaustion also have significant differences in school types.Students in provincial model high schools are significantly lower than those in non-provincial model high schools. There are significant differences of gender and school type in low achievement.Boys score significantly lower than girls. The score of students in provincial model high schools is significantly lower than that of students in non-provincial model high schools.2.Proactive personality of high school students are greatly different in terms of gender, grade, and location of their home. The proactive personality tendency of girls is significantly lower than boys, that of senior 1 students is significantly lower than senior 3 students, and that of urban students is significantly higher than rural students.3.There are no significant differences in the career decision-making self-efficacy of high school students in gender, grade, whether they are only children, school type and location of home. But,in its dimensions, there is a significant gender difference in the information-gathering dimension, and boys score lower than girls. There is a difference in self-evaluation dimension in location of home significantly.Urban students score lower than rural students.4.The proactive personality of high school students is negatively correlated with learning burnout and its dimensions significantly.5.High school students’ career decision-making self-efficacy and its dimensions are negatively correlated with learning burnout and its dimensions significantly.6.The proactive personality of high school students is positively correlated with career decision-making self-efficacy and its dimensions significantly.7.High school students’ career decision-making self-efficacy is found to partially mediate the relationship between proactive personality and learning burnout.Research conclusions: A pairwise correlation exists among these three variables for high school students, and career decision-making self-efficacy as mediator.
