In recent years,China has issued a series of laws, regulations and policies to strengthen the protection of minors. The rescue of prisoners’ minor children often refers to the rescue methods of orphans and disabled children, which is usually classified as the scope of children in distress, and ignoring the particularity of this group. On the one hand, the minor children of prisoners face great psychological pressure from family changes,on the other hand, they bear the stigma and exclusion from the society. In such a situation, the minor children of prisoners are more likely to have inferiority complex, escape, anxiety, fear and other problems.By interviewing and observing the minor children of prisoners in H Village and interviewing their families, peers and neighbors,it is found that the minor children of prisoners show negative self-evaluation,passive interpersonal communication and low self--identity.According to the age of the subjects and the performance of the problem, this paper analyzes the self-identity of minor children of prisoners from the perspective of empowerment theory.Due to the young age, immature physical and psychological development, poor communication between parents and children, lack of communication between grandparents, conflicts and gaps between peer groups, and the separation of language and body of community residents, the minor children of prisoners are prone to self-identity problems.Aiming at the self-identity problem of the research object, based on the empowerment theory, through the case work methods and skills, and the combination of direct intervention and indirect intervention, the social work intervention activities are carried out for the minor children of prisoners. In the process of intervention, the intervention is carried out from the individual level, interpersonal level and community level of empowerment theory.Direct intervention is mainly aimed at the service object, through the exploration of self and knowledge and skills to improve service objects.Indirect intervention is mainly the intervention of important others,so as to enhance the power and the self-identity of service objects. After the intervention, according to the observation and the evaluation of the service objects and important others,it is found that the service objects have changed greatly, and they can correctly evaluate themselves with clear goals. At the same time, the table of self-identity was used to test the service object before and after the intervention.Through the score comparison, the self-identity score of the service object reached the range of the standard value, which showed that the social work intervention could effectively improve the self-identity of the minor children of prisoners.
