In recent years, the problems faced by minor children of prisoners have attracted more and more attention from the society. As a special vulnerable group in the society, minor children of prisoners suffer from multiple troubles in physical and mental development, family, education and other aspects, but also suffer from various social stigmas and discrimination caused by their parents’ imprisonment.Resilience is the ability of an individual to actively cope with failures and setbacks in times of adversity, which can help an individual make the right choice in the face of difficulties.Minor children of prisoners face great psychological pressure when both parents or one of their parents is serving a sentence. If they can improve their resilience, they can avoid falling into self-abasement,isolation and other negative emotions, and maintain efforts and hope in adversity,so as to better integrate into society. From the existing research, most of the research on this group focuses on the rescue status, plight and mental health, and the research results on their resilience are relatively few. Therefore, this study presents the current state of stress resistance of minor children of prisoners and explores effective ways to improve their stress resistance by means of case work, which has important theoretical and practical significance.First of all,on the basis of combing domestic and foreign literature on the stress tolerance of minor children of prisoners, this paper investigated the current state of stress tolerance of 8 minor children of prisoners in Y Town of Hunan Province through in-depth interviews and scale measurement. The study found that the level of stress resistance of minor children of prisoners in the town was generally low.It is mainly manifested in psychology, interpersonal communication and external support.Secondly,on the basis of presenting the current state of stress tolerance of minor children of prisoners, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the important factors affecting the stress tolerance of minor children of prisoners based on the theory of enhancement and the perspective of advantage.Studies have found that self-identity,academic performance, interpersonal relationships, and social stigma and exclusion affect the resilience of minor children of prisoners. Moreover,in order to explore effective ways to improve the stress resistance of minor children of prisoners, this study selected a minor child of prisoners to conduct a case work intervention study. On the basis of fully assessing the needs and advantages of individual cases, this study formulated service objectives and plans, and through 10 cases of service intervention, adopted strategies to guide them to reconstruct correct self-cognition,explore their inner potential, promote good interpersonal interaction, and create a supportive external environment to improve the level of resilience of service subjects. In the case evaluation and reflection, the whole practice process is summarized and reflected. Finally, the paper summarizes and reflects on the full text, and further puts forward relevant suggestions on improving the stress tolerance of minor children of prisoners on the basis of practice, including: Improving the stress tolerance of minor children of prisoners can be carried out by integrating three major social work methods: individual case, group and community;Vigorously promote the development of school social work;Government departments shall increase efforts to assist the minor children of persons serving sentences.
