On The Study Of PDCA Circulation-method-based Performance Management For The Counselors At Private College H

Non-governmental higher education is an important part of China’s higher education of modern times,which has taken a key role-play in facilitating the rapid growth of China’s economy.As an essential group of college teachers,the college counselors usually stand in the managerial position of overlooking students’ daily learning and personal quality,and especially taking a major responsibility for students’ ideological and political education.At present,some of the private colleges are found to have been restricted,to somewhat extent,for their healthy and smooth development,most probably because of the unfavorable work for the management and assessment of their counselors.For the full play of the key role of counselors in the management of student affairs,the author has undertaken some researches in terms of the current situation in the private colleges,and ensured a belief that it is entirely vital to better the counselors’ performance management so as to improve the team organization of counselors and push forward the connotation development of the private colleges.Taking the private college H as the targeted institution for research in this paper,the author has applied some specific methods for research,such as,survey by questionnaires,study of literature,person-to-person interviews and so on.The article initiates an introduction to the related concepts of performance management,counsellorship,PDCA circulation method,and the fundamental theory of KPI(Key Performance Indicators).And then it reports the actual situation of counselors’ performance management at the private colleges and the credible data collected,and discusses the main contents and existing problems in the assessment of the counselors at the private colleges,which were induced in the survey by questionnaires and person-to-person interviews for the current situation of counselors at the private colleges,so that the problems in the counselors’ performance management and the causes triggering the problems are obviously noticed.Thereafter,based on the actual situation of the private college H,the article proposes in the end the implementation schemes and measures for improvement and guarantee of the counselors’ performance management in the areas of further emphasis of the counselors’ attention to performance management,the reshape of conception for the counselors’ performance management,the better improvement of mechanism and system of the counselors’ performance management,the more intensive training of counselors’ team,and the further strengthening of construction of the campus culture.The viewpoints that the author has hold for the better improvement of the private college counselors’ performance management system are due to be beneficial for the team of counselors at the private college H to be professionalized and specialized,and meanwhile,to be significantly referential for reform and innovation of the counselors’ performance management at the private colleges of the similar kind.
