| The problem of obesity induced by high fat and high sugar diet is affecting the physical and mental health development of contemporary college students, and also impair their cognitive function.Exercise has positive effects on the improvement of obesity and cognition, but its underlying mechanism is not clear. In this study,we designed human and animal experiments to investigate the potential psychological mechanism by which exercise improves the learning and memory ability of obese people. This study mainly includes the following four parts:The first part: mainly from the question, the purpose and significance of the research and research ideas and other aspects of the elaboration, and the plan and design of the whole test to be carried out.The second part: mainly the combing, analysis and induction of the research background. The author reviewed the literature on the physical and mental harm caused by obesity, cognitive impairment and its pathogenesis,as well as the mechanism of exercise in improving obesity and cognition.Through the analysis of previous research results, the author integrated and ponded over the experimental design carried out by himself. The third part: mainly carries on the empirical research to my research hypothesis. Objective: To explore the psychological mechanism of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise in improving memory ability of obese college students: the mediating effect of physical self-esteem and social physical anxiety. Methods: A total of 51 obese subjects(BMI≥28)were recruited from Nanjing University.According to their personal will, they were divided into the obese group(control group,N=19)and the obese exercise group(experimental group,N=32),in which the obese exercise group underwent moderate-intensity aerobic exercise(step running, jogging, aerobic exercise)for 12 weeks. The Mnemonic Discrimination Task was used to test the memory ability of obese subjects, and the physical self-esteem and physical anxiety of all subjects were evaluated by the physical self-esteem scale and the social physical anxiety scale. The experiment was conducted before and after the measurement.Results:(1)The BMI of obese college students was negatively correlated with the scores of physical self-esteem scale and social physical anxiety(P<0.01).BMI was positively correlated with the number of memory errors(P<0.01).The scores of physical self-esteem and social physical anxiety scale were negatively correlated with the number of memory errors(P<0.01).(2)Body self-esteem and social physical anxiety,as mediating variables, played a partial mediating role in the effect of BMI on memory ability, respectively. Conclusion: Exercise can inhibit obesity, reduce the BMI of obese college students, improve body self-esteem,relieve social physical anxiety, and promote the improvement of memory ability of obese college studentsPart Ⅳ: Objective : To explore the physiological mechanism of exercise intervention to improve the memory ability of obese mice. Methods: A total of 60 SPF C57BL/ 6CNC mice aged 4 weeks were selected. The mice model of high fat diet was used to conduct exercise intervention by running platform exercise. The open field test and forced swimming test were used to evaluate the depression-like behavior and mood of mice.Three social and new object recognition tests were used to evaluate the memory ability of obese mice. The open field test was used to evaluate the ability of voluntary activity and anxiety, the forced swimming test was used to evaluate the desperate behavior, the three-box social test was used to evaluate the social ability of the experimental animals, and the new object recognition test was used to evaluate the learning and memory ability of the mice to new and different objects.Results:(1)High fat and high fructose diet could induce obesity and induce depressive behavior and mood in mice, which were mainly manifested as reduced central activity time and swimming state duration. The 6-week treadmill exercise reversed depressive behavior and mood in mice.(2)High fat and high fructose diet can lead to the decline of learning and memory ability of mice, mainly manifested as the decrease of exploration time and frequency of new objects and unfamiliar mice,6-week running exercise increased the exploration time and frequency of new objects, and also increased the social time and frequency of unfamiliar mice. Conclusion: The results of human and animal experiments are consistent. This provides theoretical support for the exercise therapy of patients with obesity accompanied by cognitive dysfunction. This study shows that long-term and regular physical exercise can improve the memory and cognition ability of obese groups, and the underlying mechanism may be that exercise promotes the memory ability of obese groups by alleviating emotions such as low body self-esteem and high social physical anxiety. |
