Policies On Promoting The Full-Coverage National Common Language Teaching In Southern Xinjiang

Promoting the Full-coverage National Common Language Teaching is an ethnic education reform policy launched by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2017.It marks the new period of bilingual education in ethnic regions.The readjustment is in line with the historical trend and legal provisions,adapts to the new situation,and focuses on the overall strategy of Xinjiang’s long-term stability and prosperity.Based on the field study conducted in Aksu,this dissertation aims to analyze the problems and challenges faced by the Southern Xinjiang in the process of promoting the full coverage of the national common language,and provide suggestions and countermeasures correspondently.In the process of promoting the full coverage of the national common language teaching in Southern Xinjiang,there are many problems and challenges.Teachers and students at the basic level don’t have a clear understanding of the new policy;there exists a huge shortage of teacher resources,students are seriously lack of family education,and evaluation mechanism is unreasonable.All these have more or less hindered further implementation of reform.In view of the existence of the above problems,the education authorities at different levels and schools of various kinds in Southern Xinjiang should further publicize the new policy and supervising the policy implementation.Starting from the "quantity",and focusing on the "quality",a stable team of high-quality teachers should be established to advance the reform;Schools should provide students better assistance and service to make up for the shortage of students’ family education.A scientific and reasonable educational evaluation mechanism should be established to guide the educational reform,and the good measures explored in various places should be extended to the whole Southern Xinjiang.
