Study On The Ideological And Political Education In Southern Xinjiang

Southern Xinjiang to the south of Tianshan mountain, Located in the west ofChina, have vast region and was mostly covered by desert, plateau and snow mountain.The climate here was dry with little rain all the year round. The economy is mostlydepend on the oasis agriculture, such as cotton, melon, dehydrated fruit, muttonand beef, which are high quality. And there are potential untapped oil, minerals,natural gas and other resources. Since ancient times, here is a multi-ethnic area,mainly the Uighur people, with strong religious atmosphere. Multi-culturalinfluence each other. Southern Xinjiang is the important channel of “the SilkRoad” with a long history. The state-level ports, GongJiLaFu, TuErGaTe, Ilkersh,have conspicuous geographical advantage. The ports which will become as theimportant energy channels and bridgeheads are building as goods distributioncenters faced to central Asia, Southern Asia and Western Asian. As the symposiumabout Xinjiang held in May2010, the economy of Xinjiang entered a rapid developmentperiod. Each enterprise progresses day by day. Southern Xinjiang is no exception.However, the main social contradictions-the people’s growing material and culturalneeds to the backward productive forces highlights increasingly. As the materialincreased, various cultural undertakings need speedy development. The collegesand universities have the function of teaching, scientific research, service forthe society and leading the advanced culture. From all of the colleges anduniversities building, college students’ ideological and political education inSouthern Xinjiang is different from that of the rest of the country. Especiallyin recent years, the international hostile forces and the "three forces" intensified the penetration to the mass and college students in SouthernXinjiang. And it has directly or indirectly affected the normal teaching order,which further increased the difficulty of the ideological and political educationin colleges and universities in Southern Xinjiang region. Given the presentsituation, we must keep vigilance to do a good job for the ideological and politicaleducation of college students in Southern Xinjiang region and promote thedevelopment of higher education in minority areas.During my graduate study, through reading a large number of literatures,interview communication, on-the-spot investigation, I do some kind of summary forseveral universities ideological and political education in Southern Xinjiang andfind that strengthening the ideological and political education in colleges anduniversities in Southern Xinjiang region has high theoretical significance andapplication value. Therefore, the research topics and contents of the ideologicaland political education in Southern Xinjiang region was ultimately determined.The first part of this article was literatures summary, including the background,significance, research method, innovation points and difficulties. The second partmainly elaborated the development course of college students’ ideological andpolitical education in Southern Xinjiang region. In the third part, the environment,targets and contents of college students’ ideological and political education inthe Southern Xinjiang universities and colleges were summarized. The currentsituation of college students’ ideological and political education in the SouthernXinjiang universities and colleges was presented actually from the currentinternational and domestic environment, the common characteristics of educationtargets, the professional title and qualifications of the education subject,education content and method. The fourth part expounds the prominent problemsexisted in the Southern Xinjiang college students’ ideological and politicaleducation. Finally, combining the current situation and the social focus, hot spotand difficulty problems in Southern Xinjiang, we put forward the countermeasuresand suggestions on strengthening the ideological and political education inSouthern Xinjiang colleges and universities. The salient measurements were openingseveral aimed and directed education. One of the prominent measurements is tostrengthen the corresponding education.Based on the fact of Southern Xinjiang field and the ideological and politicaleducation in colleges and universities, this paper exhaustively described the current problems existing in the ideological and political education of collegestudents in Southern Xinjiang region, which made the research regional, nationaland characteristic. We hope the research would provide some reference for theideological and political education work of Southern Xinjiang and Xinjiangcolleges and universities.
