In modern times,under the guidance of different sports laws and policies,school physical education has shown different development tenses in terms of educational concept,teaching organization and management,teacher cultivation and student training.As the first resource for developing education,teachers are the leading force of school education and teaching.In order to understand and master the specific situation of physical education teachers in different periods,through the study of representative physical education laws and policies in various modern periods,it has important reference value for teachers’ self-growth,social recognition and improvement of education and teaching ability.Taking the physical education laws and policies on the role transformation of physical education teachers in modern times as the research perspective,taking the time dimension of physical education policies in historical development as the axis,the research and analysis of the role transformation of school teachers since 1919 is adopted.The study conclusions show that:(1)During the period of the new democratic revolution,physical education teachers share the same values during the socialist revolution and construction,emphasizing the basic education and political problems in the school and physical education teachers are changing to the health teachers.(2)Political will and social needs drive the introduction of different types of sports policies and regulations;the introduction of sports policies and regulations leads the change of physical education ideas;and the change of different physical education ideas(i.e.,teacher role transformation).(3)The theme of school physical education policy in China has experienced four stages,from the enhancement of students ’physical fitness to quality education,health first and then to improving students’ physical literacy.(4)The role of teachers is influenced by social needs,policy orientation,self-development and other factors.He has experienced a gradual transformation process from a single physical education teacher to a compound talent with the organic combination of "generalist" and "specialist".(5)Teachers,as the conductor of education,should meet the needs of different periods,get diversified positioning,get enhancement of their self-ability and overall quality from different aspects,which will prompt the role transformation of PE teachers in the new period.
