Nowadays,vocational education lays more emphasis on sustainable development rather than phased development.Therefore,the cultivation of students’ independent learning ability is particularly critical,which is the prerequisite for people to achieve sustainable development.The secondary vocational tourism major is a major with a wide range of knowledge,which involves local folk customs,tourism resources,policies and regulations,etc.,leading to many problems in the secondary vocational students of this major when learning the core theoretical knowledge,and can not effectively internalize the core theoretical knowledge in the heart and externalize in the form.At the same time,few secondary vocational tourism students can obtain the tour guide qualification certificate before graduation.As time goes by,students lose their enthusiasm in learning and seriously lack the ability to learn the core theory courses of tour guide independently.Therefore,it is very important to improve students’ autonomous learning ability of core theory courses of tour guide.This paper adopts grounded theory analysis method,and refers to the theory of autonomous learning model and the questionnaire of Pang Weiguo and other scholars to compile the Questionnaire on the Status quo of autonomous Learning ability of Core theory Courses of Tour guides for Secondary vocational Tourism majors.Subsequently,questionnaires were distributed to 225 students from the Tourism Department of Guiyang Women’s Vocational School according to the distribution of classes,215 valid questionnaires were collected,and the teachers and some students were interviewed.The following conclusions were drawn based on the status quo and problems of self-learning ability of core theory courses of tour guides of secondary vocational tourism students: First,the autonomous learning ability of secondary vocational tourism students is in the middle level,with the lowest score in the learning strategy dimension and the highest score in the learning environment dimension.Second,gender,class cadre,grade and other variables have significant differences in independent learning ability;Thirdly,the internal dimensions of independent learning ability are closely related,so it is very important to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ learning process ability,which has a significant impact on learning time,learning environment and learning results.Fourthly,in terms of learning motivation,students’ autonomous learning ability has some problems,such as low self-efficacy in learning theoretical knowledge,lack of interest in learning textbooks and lack of value awareness in tourism industry;In terms of learning strategies,there are some problems such as invalid preview,lack of mastery of knowledge and questions,mechanization of memory,and neglect of the importance of review.In terms of learning time,there are problems such as inappropriate learning plan and lax time management.In the learning process,there are weak self-restraint ability,learning difficulties and irritable problems;In terms of school environment,there are some problems such as weak ability to use relevant book resources and weak learning atmosphere among peers;In terms of learning results,there are problems such as cognitive deviation in homework inspection,overreliance on teachers for self-evaluation and weak awareness of summarizing knowledge.Finally,this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures to improve the status quo,problems and causes of the survey results,in order to improve the autonomous learning ability of the core theory courses of tour guide of secondary vocational tourism major students.
