Group Work To Enhance The Public Safety Awareness Of The Children Of New Citizens

With the continuous development of urbanization,the number of new citizens is increasing,and their children’s survival and development problems have also received more social attention.In the new environment,some children of new citizens have poor adaptability and lack of awareness and methods to avoid risks and hazards.They are therefore more likely to be harmed than their peers.In this case,how to improve their awareness of public safety has become the focus of attention.This paper investigates and analyzes the current situation and problems of public safety education for the children of new citizens,with the guidance of the Guidelines for Public Safety Education in Primary and secondary schools and the theories of social learning and group motivation as the basis.It is concluded that the new citizens’ children’s own safety literacy is not high,the lack of safety education at family level and the existing public safety education is not sufficient,which are the reasons for their low awareness of public safety.So from the four aspects of social security,public health security,prevention of accidental injury and network security,the author designed and implemented six group activities of "what is public security","Social security IS my best","Let’s talk about health","accidental injury is not allowed","I am a security small network police" and "build a safe home".Hope that through safety knowledge,safety scenario simulation and safety skills practice and other activities to help new citizens children aware of their lack of public safety in our daily life education,explore the new method of children’s public safety education,help new citizens children study public safety knowledge,improve public safety quality,enhance selfprotection consciousness and ability.In general,after the six group activities,their public safety awareness and safety literacy were improved: their understanding of safety knowledge was broader and deeper than before,and their cognition of safety was clearer.Therefore,the public safety education group activity is a beneficial attempt to deal with the lack of public safety education and weak awareness of public safety for the children of new citizens,which has certain feasibility and effectiveness.In addition,in the practice of group work,the author believes that more subjects should be involved in the public safety education of new citizens’ children,so as to improve the children’s safety education system and improve the supply quality of children’s safety education with richer safety education content and diversified safety education forms.
