Wutthiwitthaya School in Thailand was founded in the 1950 s.It’s been 70 years now.It is a private primary school.The school has unique teaching characteristics in terms of teachers,teaching methods,teaching materials,etc.Through classroom teaching,random observation,and questionnaire survey,the author found that the school has many problems in writing Chinese characters.These problems restrict students’ Chinese proficiency and are the shortcoming of the school’s Chinese teaching.In order to solve the problem of Chinese characters writing by students in this school,this thesis conducts a case study on the Chinese characters writing errors of students in Wutthiwitthaya School in Thailand.The introduction part of this thesis introduces the background of the topic,research purpose,research significance,research methods and literature review,etc.Then it gives a brief overview of the Chinese teaching situation in this school,including the school introduction,the school Chinese teaching situation,the advantages and problems of Chinese teaching,etc.As the basic part of the analysis of Chinese characters writing errors among Thai students and their causes,this thesis focuses on a comparative study on the characteristics of Chinese and Thai writing,mainly comparing and analyzing the development history,structural characteristics,and similarities and differences of Chinese characters and Thai writing point.At the same time,this thesis uses random interviews,questionnaires,and classroom observation as research methods,and summarizes the types of Chinese writing errors of students in this school in detail,and analyzes the reasons for the errors in students’ Chinese writing.On this basis,this thesis puts forward teaching suggestions for the students’ Chinese character writing in this school from the aspects of stroke writing,component writing,relationship between strokes,and Chinese character structure.The conclusion part summarizes the thesis and proposes a plan that needs to be improved in the future.This thesis is a case study,but the material involved in the research process is very extensive.Emphasizing the concept of Chinese character teaching,combining the evolution history and writing norms of Chinese characters with specific case studies has improved the theoretical color of this thesis to a certain extent,and is expected to provide useful reference for Thai students’ Chinese character writing teaching.
