| Spiritual support for the elderly in rural one-child families is an important part of the support for the elderly in one-child families. In the 30 years since the implementation of family planning policy in China, the number of one-child families has been increasing. With the development of economy, the basic material life of the elderly in one-child families has been met,and their spiritual needs for a higher level have become increasingly strong.Compared with the old people living in the city, most of the old people in the rural one-child families live apart from their children, have less communication with the surrounding environment, and rarely participate in recreational activities. They are out of touch with the society, and they are more deficient in spirit.Therefore,in-depth study on how to build a bridge between the elderly and social integration, enrich the elderly cultural entertainment life, and improve the level of spiritual support for the elderly is of great significance to the rural one-child families. From the perspective of spiritual support, this paper uses the hierarchy of needs theory, spiritual support theory, social activity theory and social support theory as the analytical framework, and adopts the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods.Based on the data and in-depth interviews of China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)in 2017,this paper studies the current situation and problems of spiritual support of rural one-child families from three dimensions.First of all,it combs the status quo of spiritual support from three aspects of personality respect, achievement peace of mind and spiritual comfort.Secondly,by summing up the data,it is concluded that the level of personality respect is low in the three dimensions of spiritual support for the elderly in rural one-child families, which is reflected in the weakening of independent decision-making power and the poor sense of self achievement;the level of achievement and peace of mind is the highest, the elderly are basically satisfied with their children’s living conditions, and they are more worried about their children’s physical and mental health;the level of spiritual comfort is not high, and their children can not accompany and grow old There is no place to tell people’s thoughts, monotonous life and so on,which often lead to depression, loss and other feelings of the elderly.Thirdly, using multiple linear regression model, this paper analyzes the factors that affect the spiritual support of the elderly in rural one-child families, and finds out the more significant factors from the government, society, family and individual. Finally, based on the theory of social support and social activities, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve the spiritual support of the elderly in rural one-child families. The results are as follows: the level of spiritual support for the elderly in rural one-child families is low.The main restrictive factors are the absence of children, the lack of spiritual life, and the weakening of autonomy;health status, education level, and the frequency of communication with neighbors and siblings have a significant impact on the spiritual support of the elderly in rural one-child families;age, gender and other factors have no obvious impact on it;the state and society should encourage and guide the elderly to re integrate into the society. |
