Reform is an eternal theme,the reform of school PE curriculum aims to make the teaching of school PE curriculum more suitable for the needs of students’ physical and mental development and make the PE curriculum more effective to achieve the educational goals.In the era of the rapid development of modern technology and the Internet,the emergence of massive knowledge and frequent changes in the way of presentation,so that young students hope to learn knowledge and master skills in a relaxed and happy environment.The tennis course in colleges and universities,because of the characteristics of difficult to enter the tennis sport technology,and the widespread phenomenon of a large number of students in the class but insufficient space,can effectively meet the needs of students to learn tennis course teaching,we must renew the education idea,improve the teaching means,optimize the teaching method.This paper conforms to the requirements of the development of The Times,takes students as the center,uses sports game teaching method to carry out teaching in the elective course of tennis in colleges and universities,and tries to integrate the teaching methods and means of sports games into the teaching process of tennis technology,so that students can master knowledge and skills in pleasure,and teach through fun.It provides reference and basis for the teaching practice and reform of college tennis course.This paper makes an in-depth study on the application of sports game teaching method in tennis elective course in colleges and universities theoretically and practically by using the methods of literature,questionnaire,teaching experiment,mathematical statistics and other scientific research.Taking the tennis elective courses of two classes of students of Grade 2019 in Guangdong University of Finance as the experimental object,the traditional teaching method and sports game teaching method are respectively used to carry out the teaching experiment of tennis course for comparative experimental teaching.Through the research process of data collection,theoretical discussion,experimental design,on-site teaching,questionnaire survey,result analysis and so on,From the five aspects of students’ cognition of tennis,their participation in tennis,the development of students’ physical quality,the development of students’ tennis special technology,and the evaluation of course teaching effect,the application of sports game teaching method in college tennis elective course is studied,and the conclusion is as follows:In terms of students’ sports technology,the application of sports game teaching method in college tennis elective course can help students improve their tennis technology level,among which the experimental class of forehand moving stroke technology is obviously better than the control class,and the progress is great.In terms of students’ physical quality,the application of sports game teaching method in college tennis elective course can improve students’ mobile ability and sensitive quality to some extent.In the three physical fitness test indicators selected,the experimental class made greater progress than the control class,among which,the experimental class made the most obvious progress in the 50-meter race and the greatest progress.In terms of students’ learning interest,the teaching method combined with sports games is beneficial to stimulate students’ learning interest in the process of tennis teaching.The two classes show significant differences in the dimension of learning interest in statistical significance,and the experimental class is significantly better than the control class.In the teaching of tennis elective course in colleges and universities,the combination of sports games and the use of sports games in teaching can improve students’ learning motivation.Combined with sports games in the teaching of college tennis elective course,the use of sports games in teaching can improve the students’ total score of tennis class.It is suggested that the application of sports game teaching method in special teaching should follow the purpose of game teaching method serving special teaching.And the application of sports game teaching method in special teaching should pay attention to the match between game teaching method and special teaching.
