Mr.Lv Bisong first proposed the theory of teaching overall design in 1986.The design of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is an important part of teaching.This theory has also been concerned by people who work for teaching Chinese.An excellent teaching design can reflect the teaching principles such as "student-centered" and "intensive speaking and practice".In the current environment of international communication of Chinese,how to effectively improve the quality of teaching and enhance the students' comprehensive language ability in the shortest time is a problem we must think about and solve.Therefore,from the perspective of teaching design,it must has the characteristics of operability.“Middlebury Model”,which has a great influence in the field of language teaching,has unique teaching concept.The teaching design of the elementary comprehensive course "my leg was hit by a bicycle" is based on the North American “Middlebury Model”,and its content and ideas are suitable for the primary international students to learn.In recent years,many Chinese language training courses have been opened in China in cooperation with American universities.In China,there are only a few papers using the North American “Middlebury Model” for teaching design,which is also the innovation of this paper.This paper hopes to start from the teaching design,in-depth analysis,research and summarize the merits of “Middlebury Model” for Chinese teaching in China.I hope this paper can fill in some gaps and provide new teaching ideas for Chinese as a foreign language educators.This paper is divided into four parts,the specific content is as follows:The first part analyzes the “Middlebury Model”.This part also introduce the teaching mode and management mode,which is based on the introduction of Middlebury College and its Chinese summer school.The second part is the preliminaryanalysis of the teaching design of "my leg was hit by a bicycle",which is respectively analyzed from eight aspects such as teaching material,class type and teaching object.The third part is the specific teaching steps and teaching links of teaching design,which is the main part of this paper.These links are closely connected.The fourth part is the summary and reflection of the teaching design based on “Middlebury Model”.This part discusses the innovation and problems of teaching design.At the same time,this part summarizes the advantages and limitations of “Middlebury Model” according to the process of design and practice.In the end,analyzes and discusses something we can learn from and should take care of introducing Mingde mode into Chinese teaching in China.
