Sleep quality has an important influence on the physical and mental health of individuals, especially adolescents who are in a critical period of physical and mental development, sleep quality is particularly important.Previous studies have shown that early adversity is a risk factor for sleep problems in adolescents, and that adolescents exposed to early adversity are more likely than their peers to exhibit a variety of sleep problems. However,it is still unclear how early adversity causes sleep problems in adolescents. Therefore, this paper aims to explore the internal mechanism of the influence of early adversity on sleep quality, focusing on whether early adversity affects the sleep quality of adolescents through the mediation of life events, and whether the individual's ability to regulate emotions plays a regulating role.In this study,a total of 1101 adolescents were investigated by random sampling,75 invalid questionnaires were deleted, and the reserved sample size was 1026,including 430 males and 596 females. The mean age of the adolescents was 15.18±1.52 years(the minimum age was 11 years and the maximum age was 20 years); The scale used the Pittsburgh sleep quality index, childhood trauma questionnaire, adolescent life events, and emotional regulation. In this study, independent sample t test,one-way analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis and PROCESS plug-in were used for analysis using SPSS 21.0.Results:(1)descriptive statistical results show that about 62.48%of adolescents have good sleep quality,25.63%have moderate sleep quality, and 11.89%have poor sleep quality. The overall sleep quality of girls was lower than that of boys.Early adolescent adversity, about 10.5%of the adolescent emotional abuse,6.4%physical abuse,7.5%sexual abuse,22.6%emotional neglect,26.6%physical neglect. The overall level of early adversity of boys is higher than that of girls.(2)Early adversity, life events, emotional regulation ability, and sleep quality were correlated in pairs.(3)Life events play an intermediary role in early adversity and sleep quality.(4)Early adversity, life events, emotional regulation ability and sleep quality constitute a moderating mediating effect model.Life events mediate between early adversity and sleep quality, and emotional regulation ability moderates both the first and second half of the model.Research conclusions:Early adversity is closely related to life events, sleep quality and emotional regulation ability in adolescents.Adolescents who experience more adversity early in life experience more life events during adolescence, which severely impairs sleep quality.High emotional regulation ability can effectively alleviate the impact of early adversity on adolescent life events and reduce the damage of life events to sleep quality.
