A mature discipline must have a complete operation system.In this system,in addition to paying attention to its own development,it should also have a real,objective,complete and authoritative carding of its history.This paper divides the development of contemporary design education in Shanghai into four main stages:The first is the initial exploration of new education in the early days of Shanghai Liberation.It studies the relatively complete and modern arts and crafts system formed by the government's unified planning and management of private and public design education institutions in Shanghai from the establishment of new China in1949 to the eve of the cultural revolution in 1965.Secondly,it discusses the design education in Shanghai at the beginning of the cultural revolution,the two main teaching modes during the cultural revolution and the design education in Shanghai at the end of the cultural revolution,It is found that although the order of design education in Shanghai has been completely disrupted at this time,it has not stagnated,but has changed into a form attached to "721 University" and "part-time school".Furthermore,during the period of reform and opening-up,the college entrance examination in 1977 was restored to the enrollment expansion of Shanghai Universities in 1999.With the transformation of Shanghai's economic system from planned economy to market economy and the introduction of foreign "three components" curriculum,Shanghai design education has helped to recover,transform and develop.Finally,in view of the unprecedented changes made by Shanghai Design Education in the face of the new era,new environment and new goals in the accelerated development of the information age in the 20 th century.Starting from the macro and micro levels,this paper combines the vertical research and horizontal research.Through the methods of qualitative research,quantitative research,field investigation,literature research and correlation analysis,this paper makes a scientific,objective and rigorous analysis of the training objectives,curriculum,teaching system and specialty design of Shanghai Design Education in the past 70 years And so on.Starting from the facts,this paper systematically discusses the development context and purpose of design education in Shanghai,and puts forward new suggestions and ideas on the evolution law,so as to form a reliable,testable,objective,rigorous and real new material.
