The main content of this paper is from the beginning of the Republic of China in 1949 to the founding of the people's Republic of China in 1912 thirty-eight years,the city of Shanghai in the early art and design education.Through the continuous development in the modern industry and commerce environment,Shanghai professional art school,industrial schools,private institutions,businesses and other institutions to conduct further research on the complete training for art design talents.Finally,I hope to find out how the art design education in Shanghai during the period of the Republic of China has occurred and formed.In the art and design education system from the elementary to the higher education,what kind of structure and relation is the art design education at all levels?And discuss the characteristics of the different levels of the design education model.The first chapter is the introduction part through to the Republic of China period some education form name elaboration,has made clear they and the artistic design education between the intrinsic connection,has cleared away the concept barrier for the following discussion.On the other hand,is mainly to the current research on the subject of a review,summed up the three paradigms:the first is the study of the creation of professional art colleges in the design,technology and design related education;second is to some social groups,private studio and industrial and commercial enterprises internal training personnel to design research;the third is to study those who played an important role in the design education educator in Shanghai.And pointed out that the current research results also exist what is insufficient,is also I in the back of the paper to focus on the solution.The second chapter is a summary of the beginning of modern design education in our country.Since the Opium War,gradually began to develop Shanghai's capitalist industry and commerce,and accompanied by the rise of the Westernization Movement,the bourgeois education began to replace the traditional feudal education system.And with the introduction of Western art into China,and the traditional Chinese art education had a fierce collision.Which led to the comprehensive transformation of Chinese fine arts education from teaching function to teaching form and teaching method.The third chapter mainly analyzes the design education content in the course of general education.From the painting class in the late Qing Dynasty "geometric painting" and "painting" to the beginning of the period of the Republic of pattern education,primary and secondary schools,the proportion of the content of the design education has increased.The teaching standard of this kind of transformation,reflected the picture manual course including the design education in our country general education,it is in the unceasing exploration,the content of the teaching is also unceasingly rich and perfect.The continuous evolution of teaching design in primary and secondary schools,with industrial and commercial enterprises to design talent demand,are closely linked with the overall design and social development of education,is an important part of art design education in the Republic of china.The fourth chapter is about the art design education in Colleges and universities.The first is the detailed analysis of the design process of the pattern,and the establishment of art design education system in our country.Secondly,from the state for practical talent demand oriented Society for the understanding of the function of art design,and founder of the whole school running thoughts in three aspects of the pattern subject to practical oriented teaching aim and curriculum;and for the study of teaching methods for the study of structure of teachers in the University and the teachers.The fifth chapter is the analysis of art design education in the Republic of China Shanghai art institutions,industrial and commercial enterprises and a large number of amateur education institutions,clearly bring this form of teaching is the advantage of high degree of freedom,refinement learning course,can choose according to need,is conducive to social equality of mass education.But there are obvious shortcomings of the lack of teachers,lack of effective monitoring of the quality of teaching.
