A Study On Translator Subjectivity Of Team Interpreters In Sports Events Under The Guidance Of The Triangular Interpreting Model Of Interpretation Theory

The vigorous development of Chinese sports industry has helped to propel the development of related industries.As a new front in the field of interpretation,sports interpretation has gradually attracted the attention of domestic scholars after the 2008 Beijing Olympics.Meanwhile the major domestic professional clubs are also conducting active communication with the foreign counterparts for foreign aid.In the increasingly frequent international exchanges and cooperation in sports,interpreters are playing increasingly important roles and the interpreters with teams have even been indispensable in professional teams of major sports events.Therefore,the studies on translation strategies and translation effects of team interpreters in sports events have also been the focus of scholars.The study,with interpreter's subjectivity of team interpreters in sports events as the object and under the guidance of the Triangle Interpretation Model of Theory of Sense,with the actual translation experience of the WCBA 2019-2020 season of the Hebei Women's Basketball Team as the corpus,analyze and sort out the translator's subjectivity reflected in the team interpretation process,and use the in-depth interview method to analyze the translator's subjectivity in the team interpretation process of sports events.The subjectivity of the translator means that the translator creatively exerts his own initiative according to the original language loop to successfully complete the communication.The Triangle Interpretation Model of Theory of Sense divides the interpretation process into three stages: the first stage is to understand the original language and understand its meaning;the second stage is to break away from the language shell and use what you have learned to convey to the speaker and analyze the original language information to understand the thoughts and feelings expressed outside the original language;the third stage is the re-expression stage.In this stage,the translator uses the appropriate target language to express,and accurately convey the original language information.Although the Triangle Interpretation Model of Theory of Sense plays a positive role in guiding the team interpreters in sports events,in practice,they face problems such as the use of language knowledge,the adjustment of language habits,and emergency response.Directed against these problems,this study offers solutions:(1)In the process of understanding the source language,the interpreter exerts the subjectivity of the translator to help extract the linguistic and non-verbal meanings conveyed by the speaker,and accurately understand the information conveyed by the speaker.(2)In deverbalization,giving full play to the translator's subjectivity helps interpreters refine the core content of the original language,grasp its logical relationship,adjust language expression,and successfully complete language transformation.(3)In the process of re-expression,giving full play to the subjectivity of the translator helps interpreters choose translation strategies reasonably,control the communication rhythm and atmosphere,and effectively convey the meaning of the original language.At the same time,strategies for effective application of translator's subjectivity are proposed:(1)Interpreters should comprehensively understand the underlying connotations of source languages.Besides,interpreters should listen to and distinguish the accents and vernacular language after the language information is obtained from the speakers and they should mobilize their subjectivity to accurately understand the information conveyed by the speakers by reasonably utilizing their mastered language and non-linguistic knowledge and experience.(2)In deverbalization,interpreters should not blindly stick to the structure of source language,rather they should coordinate the language logic and extract the core contents and adjust language structure and proper adjustments should also be made by following the language habits of listeners of receptor language to make the information conveyed to be more explicit after full comprehension of the meaning.(3)At the process of re-expression,interpreters should reorganize language to show the original intentions of the speakers by utilizing proper interpretation strategies in the limited time.Besides,interpreters should,if imperative,take the initiative to initiate the communication atmosphere by giving full play of their subjectivity and respond to emergencies to ensure the information delivered by speakers can be exactly and smoothly expressed.
