Barriers And Proper Tactics In Effective Escort Interpreting From The Perspective Of Interpreters' Subjectivity

With the prosperity and development of economic globalization,the exchanges in policy,culture,military and other aspects among different countries have become increasingly close.Good language communication is the essential factor that constitutes all these developments.Therefore,as an efficient cross-cultural communication activity,interpretation plays an increasingly important role in the international community and interpreters have built bridges and links for mutual exchanges and cooperation among nations.China's interpreting market is thriving,and it's demand for good interpreters is increasing.At the same time,it also triggered extensive discussions of interpreting in the academic community.Interpreting activities are divided into two forms,simultaneous interpretation and consecutive interpretation.In general,the use of consecutive interpreting is relatively extensive,and escort interpreting is one of them.Compared with rigorous conference interpretation and courtroom interpreting,escort interpretation is more closely related to our daily life.However,experts and scholars are more inclined to study the former,and the latter's research is rare.In addition,escort interpreting is by no means an easy task.In fact,the truth is that an excellent escort interpreter must have abundant bilingual knowledge,extralinguistic knowledge,flexible interpreting skills,and can actively perform subjective initiatives.Therefore,based on Bakhtin's dialogue theory and Foucault's view of power,this article will discuss in depth the obstacles that may arise in the process of interpreting from the perspective of interpreters' subjectivity,by enumerating representative and targeted examples.The author will explore how interpreters use subjectivity and adopt different strategies and related interpretation techniques,such as literal interpretation,analogy,addition,summarization and so on.It is hoped that this paper will provide some suggestions for the future escort interpretation practice of interpreters and help them to interpret more successfully.
