Language learning starts from words.How to improve the efficiency of vocabulary teaching and solve the problems such as the difficulty in writing Chinese characters and understanding the meaning of Chinese words has always been the focus of attention in the field of Chinese as a second language education.Starting from the morpheme teaching method,this paper attempts to integrate the thoughts of "word-oriented" and "character-oriented",and to trace the whole word teaching back to the morpheme,then to the Chinese character from the morpheme,and finally to the single-element character from the Chinese character.In terms of structure,Chinese characters can be divided into two types: the single-element character and the combined character.The combined character is generally composed of the single character or its variants.In other words,the single-element character can be used to construct characters and words at the same time.If we make an analogy with English,the function of the single word is similar to that of the root in English,from which we can see its important role.Based on scientific statistics,this paper concludes that there are 2649 Chinese characters in the Universal Curriculum Syllabus for International Chinese Language Teaching,among which 1161 characters are only used for word formation,which has little effect on word formation and low research effect.And the previous research in the selection of objects are insufficient,not scientific.Therefore,this paper attempts to analyze these Chinese characters from four aspects of importance index,cost index,utility index and cost-effectiveness ratio according to statistical knowledge,and finally selects 326 Chinese characters in the outline as the research object.Our research is based on existing theories and draws on relevant knowledge,but from the starting point to the ultimate goal,it is obedient to and serves the actual teaching of Chinese vocabulary as a foreign language.Our research does not engage in comprehensive analysis,but is based on the single-element teaching for the purpose of Chinese vocabulary teaching,adhere to the principle of line-by-line analysis,on the basis of quantification,to do a thorough analysis.Specifically,the object of study is divided into independent characters and as a part of the combination of the single-element character.Then,each category is divided into two categories: traceable split and untraceable split.Each category is divided into several small categories according to the specific situation.Including single-element character represent sound,single-element character represent meaning,Including single-element character represent sound and meaning,non-single-element represent sound and meaning.It is not suitable to explain several cases of combined characters,including great differences between ancient and modern glyphs,unrelated meanings and meanings of characters,and related to culturally sensitive information.Believe in teaching Chinese as a foreign language workers saw our results will feel easy to use,have very strong maneuverability,in what has been discussed above specific drivable and teaching strategies,make every effort to help learners master the number of small but powerful single-element character,handing complexitey by simplicity,seize the key vocabulary,so as to realize the real service for the Chinese as a foreign language vocabulary teaching goal.
