Higashino Keigo is one of the writers who have made their marks in Japanese mystery novels.He entered into the literary world with the background of science and engineering,and always implementing a rational and calm narrative style.Higashino Keigo’s works are mainly based on reasoning novels,covering a variety of genres including personal reasoning,new personality,social school reasoning,and various themes such as puzzle solving,love,science fiction,and social history.His unique life experience and philosophy of life provided endless inspiration for his creation and pushed the development of mystery novels to another peak.In Higashino Keigo’s mystery novels,there is always a factor that cannot be ignored,that is,the intricate ethics described in novels.His narrative directly confronts the harshness of contemporary life,examines the ethical problems that exist in the process of urbanization,defends the noble humanity while not hiding the fragility and narrowness of human nature.In the description of the conflict between individual desires and ethics,the relationship between individuals and society,and the description of the difficult survival situation of individuals in reality,Higashino Keigo shows the ethical care and social responsibility that writers should have,and has unique significance and value.This article includes three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part mainly elaborates the personal life of Higashino Keigo,arranges several important points in his novel creation,discusses the impact of his experience on the creation of the novel,introduces the current academic research status of Higashino Keigo,and also extracts the research significance in this article.Chapter 1 of the main text mainly elaborates the ethical background of Higashino Keigo’s works.After the Second World War,Western new ethical thoughts got into Japan like an influx.The old social system was being ruled by emerging powers such as law and technology,and people were gradually alienated.The cultural crisis caused by the rampant material culture has also continuously aggravated the status of ethical aberrations of contemporary people;this is obviously a huge shock and driving force for Higashino Keigo who has grown up at the intersection of traditional ethical ideas and new ethical ideas;Chapter 2 mainly expounds the diverse themes of Higashino Keigo’s ethical narrative,starting with the five dimensions of family ethics,social ethics,survival ethics,gender ethics,and bioethics,and selecting a variety of different interpretation angles,elaborating ethics on the transmission of Higashino Keigo in the narrative by the experience of multiple hidden authors,The characteristics of ethics and the hidden core of tragedy;Starting from the perspective of narrative ethics,Chapter 3 of the main text elaborates Higashino Keigo’s narrative strategy,narrative effect and its practical significance consistent with the context of the current era.Through the perspective of "inner focus",two entry points of "marginal man" and "confession" are selected to vividly describe the ethical experience experienced by people in the process of urbanization;Chapter 4 of the text shows the modern thinking to the ethical narrative of Higashino Keigo,expounding the artistic limitations and value of the ethical narrative in Higashino Keigo’s works.The concluding part of the article takes the overview of the full text and summarizes the author’s research results on the ethical narrative of Higashino Keigo’s novels.Higashino Keigo has a profound enlightenment and reference significance for studying ethic in the process of contemporary urbanization through the true description of human nature and society.
