Persuasion and kindness are long-standing traditions in Chinese society,and philanthropy and charity are the concrete manifestation of the principle of persuasion.As a crucial foundation of public moral education,the significance of good books is to persuade people to do good.It sprouted in the Han Dynasty,formed in the Song Dynasty,and thrived in the Ming and Qing dynasties.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,the sprout of capitalism impacted the traditional social structure.The society needed to persuade the world because of the urgent social turmoil.Good books are important resources for moral education.Because they can promote moral cultivation and moral education,they have attracted much attention during this period.For those reasons they built complete and mature education system,which appearing different characteristics from the past.First of all,in terms of educational content,the Ming and Qing Dynasties expand on the basis of grasping the core of traditional morality in accordance with practical requirements,and focus on how to deal with the relationship between justice and profit,and between individuals and society.Secondly,in terms of teaching methods,the Ming and Qing Dynasties book creatively proposed the way of exhortation to do good deeds on the basis of traditional teaching methods,and used it as a template for doing good deeds in daily self-cultivation.The moral education in the early period is more operable.Thirdly,in terms of enlightenment policies,the Ming and Qing dynasties sought resources from folk culture,fully considered the broadness of enlightenment objects,and constructed the Trinity Enlightenment System of emperors,scholars,and people,and a tradition dominated by officials and nobles Compared with moral education,it is more vivid and lively,so it can achieve good educational effects at that time.Under the guidance of socialist moral thought,absorbing and drawing on the precious resources of traditional culture is an important aspect of socialist moral construction with Chinese characteristics.As an important part of Chinese traditional moral education culture,the good book of Ming and Qing dynasties has important reference value for the construction of modern moral education.Contemporary moral education has achieved gratifying achievements,but it also faces some difficulties.First,at the goal level,the goal setting of moral education lacks hierarchy,which does not match the subjective requirements of the objects of moral education.Secondly,on the content level,the content of moral education lacks pertinence,and there is a certain degree of moral education tendency.Thirdly,on the method level,the moral education method is single,emphasizing theoretical knowledge infusion,and ignoring practical teaching.Fourth,at the policy level,the moral educ ation policy focuses on formulation rather than implementation,focusing on summarizing and transforming,and unifying requirements rather than flexible implementation.In view of this,contemporary moral education should draw on the useful resources in the system of persuasion and charity in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Here comes the policy idea of Going Among the Masses.But at the same time,we cannot deny that the Ming and Qing dynasty books are produced under a special social and cultural background,and there must be a part that is not compatible with modern society.It must be transformed according to the development requirements of modern society and take its essence to get rid of its dross,to provide support and help for today's socialist moral construction.
