Teacher Evaluation,which pay attention to the practical value and potential value of teachers' work performance,is the means to check the quality of teachers'teaching and the effect of higher education,and it has long been the focus of attention of educational researchers."Students' Evaluation of Teaching",which originated in the United States of America,has been carried out in western universities for hundreds of years.This activity has been received by the high praise,including the effective diagnosis of teaching,promote the quality of teaching and so on,and it was introduced into China's colleges and universities in practice in the late eighty's of last century and further to be popularized.With the development of the theory and practice carried out in-depth,the key content of former researchers is constantly changing,the existing research results mainly around discussion of the rationality of students'evaluation of teaching,the reliability and validity testing of the evaluation,the construction of the index system,the influencing factors and the research on how to deal with the evaluation results,etc.As a mean of teaching information diagnosis,as well as a powerful means of teachers' teaching quality monitoring,"Students'Evaluation of Teaching" occupies a position that cannot be replaced.So far,most of the colleges and universities in our country have been regarded "Students' Evaluation of Teaching" as a part of the regular teaching management work.Based on the philosophy of modern education and teaching,the purpose and value of the Students' Evaluation of Teaching lies in the "promotion of the teaching level".But hit the newspapers recently," the game of 'a minute rating to teach'",causing widespread discussion,reflecting the phenomenon that college students regarded power supervision as a trifling matter,which reveals the negative and passive mentality of the college students to participate in the evaluation of teaching activities.Such kind of random,"through the field" and other irresponsible attitude to participate in the phenomenon of student evaluation of teaching,that students' assessment of teaching activities fell into a wide range of controversy,and finally into the dispute of abolition.Weather Students' Evaluation of Teaching is just some kind of a mere formality?And as the main body of teaching assessment,students participating in the activities with what kind of attitude,and the same with their perception or experience of the activities?The puzzle of these questions is the starting point of this study.Based on the case study of Nanjing University,this paper is on the basis of sorting out the relevant policy documents,and by way of questionnaire survey and semistructured interviews in-depth step by step,so as to understanding Student Evaluation of Teaching(Evaluation of Classroom Teaching Quality)of Nanjing University detailed.Through the collection of students to understand the meaning of the activities of the activities of the time and the environment,the activities of the publicity and the results of processing and other aspects of the experience,as well as the perception of their own interests and other information,the author examines the gap between the realistic meaning and the theoretical value of the Students' Evaluation of Teaching activities from the students' perspective,and finds out the problems in the current situation and makes an attribution to the problem including:The school's propaganda and mobilization work for students' assessment of teaching activities is not enough;By the shackles of the traditional education concept,the school administrators did not really respect the students of their subject status in the activities;Forcing students to participate in activities,which eliminate the subjectivity of the students;The interaction of students in the environment of "Students' Evaluation of Teaching".On the basis of the problem attribution,the author puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the training of the students in the teaching activities:Schools should be clear about the significance of the progress of students' assessment of teaching,and diverse ways of publicity and guidance to students;The school administrators should face up to the subject position of the students in the course of the "Students' Evaluation of Teaching",and carry out the teaching activities around the demands of the students;Schools should develop a reasonable flow of activities,and make the network become a channel of dialogue between teachers and students;Schools should pay more attention to the results of the "Students' Evaluation of Teaching",and through the appropriate way to feedback them to the students.Finally,on the basis of summarizing the above content,the author also puts forward the future research prospects.
